In 6 Weeks and Not Really Feeling Much Better

Ok fellas I have been getting a lot of these questions so I wanted to start a thread so you could get some insight from the vets around here.

Don't get me wrong your sex drive should be up at this time and your endurance should be climbing at the gym but it takes time for TRT to really kick in.

At 6 weeks your TT levels are just beginning to stabilize. I think people assume by this time they should have turned into Arnold already :)

I say be patient, but I wanted to start this thread to get some responses from other people that have been there and done that. So gentleman, please add some response to this thread about your experience and how long it took TRT to start working for you?

Thanks!

i think it depends on how hypo you were to begin with. Guys with moderately low test , like say 390 ngdl may not notice quite as much a difference and not near as quick , as a guy like myself , i had 160ngdl total test and low estrogen as well. within a few weeks i was feeling way better. for me a 'real' medical problem was fixed and my body responded right away , for others they were never really that low to begin with , and now they are just supplementing/replacing to a more optimal level then they were previously .

its like the difference between giving a completely blind man his vision restored , compared to just getting contacts for a person who had poor vision. one is a major change and shock , the other is an improvement. the major change and shock is noticed right away , the improvement is just that , an improvement (but an improvement is still a good thing)

Or it could be due to the fact that you started with 400mg of test cypionate and 50mg of testosterone cypionate 3x a week, that will kick in a bit faster than 200mg a week of TC.

I am looking for people that started with legit TRT, not a steroid cycle.

But thanks for your input :)

This was about 5+ years back . I never did a steroid cycle in my life , heck i was only 147 pounds at the time. I went to a local TRT clinic in my area just cause I heard radio commercials for it . They started me off with 200mg of test cyp a week. Heck within only a couple of days after the first injection I had morning wood for the first time in years. That couldn't have been placebo :)
I should probably point out that a 'few weeks' , doesn't mean 2 weeks, it was probably a month or so.

Then after going to that clinic for a month i decided to go with an online clinic and do my injections myself . I switched to doing 200mg of test every 5th day. in about 4 months I went from 147 pounds to about 180 (at 12% body fat). so my body responded very well to the optimal range of test (1200ngdl) which it had never experienced before . so i was a bit of a hyper responder.

Of course after that , going to full blown AAS cycles came next, and that's how i was able to add more then 1/3 my original body weight in muscle mass over the years.

But , it was still the original TRT treatment itself that was responsible for the big change and was well worth it, and again was only a trt dose of test, not a cycle

If your low t and optimize it with injections and you still have fatigue after 3 months it's time to look elsewhere. Leaky gut, hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, lyme, hemachromatosis, pit tumor, cancer... to name some other things. Basically it starts with test, then hcg, then low dose cialis, then cytomel, then low dose naltrexone, then ace or hc. If that don't help then it's leaky gut, heavy metals chronic infection, and/or clogged up detox pathways. Once test, n cytomel are added and it doesn't help if you find the root cause they will start feeling better rapidly.my fatigue is much improved. But it took a lot of fuckery to find the root cause.

At the six week mark I was getting sleep related erections for the first time since I was a kid. Delayed onset muscle soreness from relatively minor tasks had stopped. There was enough positives to continue but I was still miserable.

For me I noticed the sex drive increase pretty quick, less than 2 months. The performance in the gym definitely improved and the desire to actually go improved. I also feel a bit more active meaning I used to find the couch now I am looking for things to do.

For me, most effects were subtle and gradual. Pre-TRT my test level was about 275. The first thing I noticed was increased strength in the gym, about 20% within several months. That was quite noticible. Thereafter, small additional gains continued but very slowly.

I am not 3 1/2 years into TRT. Fat very slowly but steadily decreased. Muscle size slowly increased. After a few years, the change in appearance was quite dramatic.

The effect that I like the most is in bicycle riding - a passion of mine. I am in a bike club. Before TRT I was slightly below average. Now I am the strongest rider by far. On big hills I like to approach the hill near the rear and see if I can then beat everyone else to the top of the hill. Usually I can. Eventually I had to start riding with a faster group. With my old group I feel like I am not getting any exercise.

6 weeks is not long enough to know for sure. If you have been on testosterone before you will know for sure by then, but on your first time you may not know for sure for 10 full weeks. Especially with TRT dosages.

The first time I did testosterone I did 500mg a week and was not 100% sure until week 10 and I was going to the gym 6 days a week and really only knew for sure because my lifts were going up.

So if you are not going to the gym it can be harder to tell.

For me, I'll say that the first thing I did was augment diet and reduction of processed crap. Higher quality protein, carbs from complex sources, good fats and after about 4 weeks of that (with TRT) I felt really really good. I had to fine tune my doseage as I started too high and my Bp went up, Acne, etc... but I found a sweet spot, and with the addition of the diet, my workouts were intensifying my fat loss and muscle gain.

So at about 6-10 weeks in, everything felt...well, right on.

I always make the statement that TRT helps alone but with diet, exercise, and proper and systematic dosing (always at the same time and interval) TRT is way more effective.
