is it true about squatting?

I'm not a bodybuilder!
Squat goes up, everyone else goes up too???

I ask this because when i first started training i did not train legs, all because there was no leg equipment in the gym! it was free so i took advantage of it everything else was pretty good for upper body i gained well, anyway just started a new gym and i have started doing legs. so will i see gains in everything else too when my squat goes up?

In weight lifting strenght goes from bottom up. Squats and dead lifts are the best thing for making you stronger. Both squats and dead lifts get your core stronger thus making it easier to handle more weight. And now that you are doing them you will see that you really use all your muscles to squat.

Your shoulders and arms are also used to stabalize the weight on your upper body. Your lower backnis also helping your core and you develop upper body strength to deal with heavier weights. If, you want over all strenght you will have stron legs.

People also like to think that squatting and dead lifting stimulate the growth hormone, but I believe this has been debunked?

im good at deadlifting, i just suck on legs for now, i can squat 120kg for 8 reps, that what i did yesterday, never done legs b4 but i love deadlifting

I forgot to mention this is on the smith machine hahaha! yeah I'm defo a newbie to legs

I have to really psych myself for leg day. And yeah, usually that consists in reminding myself that I can't expect to bench over 300 when I can barely squat that much. That has pushed me to many a productive leg day.

Why does everyone hate leg day? I like doing legs, once I got past the initial soreness. Do it twice a week now.

I like Squats.. I've puked after Squats before. Probably one of the more intense lifts. I love deadlifts.. I used to like working in with a huge mofo and piling the wait on. Give em a challenge. I met a lot of good sources that way too.

Just as my mates hate dead lifting, Both squats and deadlifting are very demanding on your body, ever feel dizzy after doing them? This is why my mates don't like deadlifting, I honestly think 5x5 deadlift or 5x5 squat, the deadlift was harder for me

Matt told me his eternal cycle had nothing to do with his 1/5 squats of 500 lbs and now his bench is way up too and his chest is looking huge and rock solid. For those who don't know what Matt means to the "ology" family....just google his squat video on the forum or you tube and this will answer all questions about whether squats work or not!

I feel a little light headed after doing deadlifts. Usually about the 3rd set. It got worse when I started doing deadlifts supersetted with dumbell deadlifts to push out more reps. There have been a few times that I saw stars and almost passed out. It was all I could do keep it together!

Yeah, I do deadlifts supersetted with "hanging-on-to-the-power-cage-to-keep-from-passing-out-and-falling-down"s. :)

I absolutely hate doing legs but I know they must be done. I usually do legs with a female friend of mine and I gotta say it's a bit of a motivator watching her go. She is truly gifted and she pushes me to my max and my legs hate her for it a couple days later. But when it comes to squats because of my height I sometimes refuse to do them. When I get back into the gym I'm gonna make more of a concentrated effort into doing them every leg day.

squats are not gonna make your pull ups stornger or your bench press etc.
squats can make your deadlift stornger and your lower back .they can also make you produce natural test while lifting really heavy
