Is my doctor reusing the needle?

So I have low T and have started getting weekly injections. the Doctor is only there to do the intial consult and then the nurse administers the injections. When I come in I go in one room and wait while she gets the test and comes back. She injects and then I notice she puts the needle in her pocket instead of throwing in a biohazard can (which is right there). Then we both go to the front and I leave and she sits back down at the desk.

Does this seem weird?

Ask her why she pockets it.

Better question though is why are you going to your doc for injections? You should be self-injecting at home!

can you do that? Like get the serum from a doc legally right and self inject?

As far as if they are reusing them shouldn't I find out if there's something wrong going on - rather than ask? after all if they ARE then asking will likely get them to just hide it better and either still do it or to others. And the risk has already been done to me and others.

Of course you can self-inject testosterone. Nearly all of us here do it. You pick up a vial of test at the pharmacy. Get some needles from the pharmacy. You are all set. Why would you keep paying your doctor to give you injections? And the inconvenience of going there all the time!

By the way, do you think diabetics go to their doc for every injection they get?

I can't imagine why they would want to reuse needles. They are soooooooo cheap.

the needle they use is a huge capacity. they are giving me .75 cc and it's about 1/5th of the needle. It's like a sharpie or thicker and about 5"

Is there some sort of needle they can just remove the tip on and reuse the housing maybe?

I'm really a bit concerned about this

side note: how do you just "get it from the pharmacy"? What doctor will write you a script for this?
thanks

Again, needles/syringes are dirt cheap. No reason to recycle them. But ask you doctor why the nurse is doing that if it bothers you.

You get it from a pharmacy like you get any other prescription drug. You ask your doctor to write you a prescription and you go fill it. It is EASY. That is what nearly all of the guys on TRT do. You need to demand that your doc let you self-inject.

Ridiculous. Who the hell knows what she really does with that syringe. Oh well u are going to see A LOT of changes to your American Medical system from here on out.
B.t.w. death panels are not cool nor trendy.

what the %$ are death panels?

So what would you do? put a hidden camera in lol? Not sure how else you'd know truth?

I'm not being smart assed and perhaps I'm way off on this, but everybody gets a little up tight like this when they're E2 goes up. Maybe time to check this out. BTW, simply tell your doctor that it is inconvenient to go there for injections (or whatever excuse you want) and tell him that everybody you know of does their own injection. He gives you a script for T and you get needles and syringes. There lots of info here on that. And you inject twice a week to level out the peaks. It only takes a few minutes for the nurse to show you how to inject (plus there's youtube for backup). And if he's worried about using too much (which I'd be surprised if he was) tell him that what blood tests are for. Everybody does their own injections, man. Good luck
