Is the benefit of milk thistle a myth?

I keep hearing that you should take it, especially with any orals, because it protects the liver, but there really seems to be no scientific evidence for this that I can find. I also keep hearing that it reduces the efficacy of oral steroids, which also sounds like nonscience to me. So...anyone found decent info on this, or is it all broscience and nonscience?

Milk thistle might help to a slight degree but like said NAC is a lot more efficient. They even give it to people intravenously if they over dose on Tylenol at the hospital.

Milk thistle worked for me. Not only for aas but alcohol w it. I was hospitalized w my lived enzymes off the hook. I continued to take MT without alcohol bit still on juice, and a month later, at 1000mgs a day, my levels were back to normal. I her regular bloods and do some crazy cycles. MT works for me. And I'm 45 and have been thru some shit. Haha...

Have you considered the possibility a month without alcohol works for you?

Milk thistle has benefits, but it's entirely weak for the purpose of liver protection. As mentioned, NAC is what you need and it's superior to anything over the counter, and many prescriptions as well. NAC is used in liver transplant patients post surgery for a reason. Also administered IV for any urgent-care liver toxicity patients.

When taking NAC or any other liver support while you are running orals, you should take them at separate times? In other words dont take your oral at the same time you take your NAC. Instead take the NAC between oral doses?

you want NAC, Tudca or udca and PPC (Polyenylphosphatidylxholine) theres studies online that prove the effectiveness of these compounds. its the ultimate liver supp stack.

That is what I thought before but on researching for a Helladrol cycle I am now reading that you should seperate orals from LS cause the LS cleans your liver out and inhibits the oral.

if anything a better functioning liver would process orals more efficiently therefore have a better effect from whatever oral your taking. i base this on nothing. just sounds logical to me...
