Every morning I wake up and drink a protein shake because I have no appetite in the morning. About half way to 3/4's of the way down It's hard to keep down. For about an hour after I gag every now and then sometimes throw up. I know it's not the shakes because it happens with milk as well. It will also happen periodically through out the day. I get heart burn rarely, but does this sound like acid reflux or what? It's really been cutting into how much I eat and how often. I can't eat much for the first 3 or 4 hours of the day, but after I get my first real meal in my appetite is back to normal.

I've been doing that lately, helps get them down but I still burp/gag after. I just want to know what you guys think before I head into the doctor.

i agree with aboot ,,, i have been diagnosed with acid reflux and consequently have to take Nexium every damn day of my life ,,,, but my symptoms weren't anything like that.... you should get a referral to a gastroenterologist...

Sounds like you might be lactose or number of other things. Try taking a digestive enzeyme with lactase or if its the protien try a probiotic.

First i would try eating some oatmeal or something so your stomach can handle the protien.

acid reflux used to be called heartburn but now that the drug companies have a product it is now a disease--eat good whole foods and you will have less problems with it.

Actually, acid reflux can damage the esophagus making it hard to get the food down once swallowed, even liquid and saliva! It can feel like its stuck where your ribs start. And in some cases you can experience a rolling feeling that is very uncomfortable. And if that was not bad enough, it can even be painful to swallow and cause vomiting.

I have what is known as GERD.
Here is a little about it ...
" GERD stands for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. Gastroesophageal reflux describes a backflow of acid from the stomach into the swallowing tube or esophagus. This acid can irritate and sometimes damage the delicate lining on the inside of the esophagus. Almost everyone experiences gastroesophageal reflux at some time. The usual symptom is heartburn, an uncomfortable burning sensation behind the breastbone, most commonly occurring after a meal. In some individuals this reflux is frequent or severe enough to cause more significant problems, that is a disease. Thus, gastroesophageal reflux disease is a clinical condition that occurs when reflux of stomach acid into the esophagus is severe enough to impact the patient’s life and/or damage the esophagus."

Some foods to stay away from if experiencing heart burn is ...
Chocolate, alcohol, peppermint, coffee, garlic, onion, cinnamon, citrus fruits and juices, and tomato products.

Go see the doctor and ask about Acid Reflux and GERD.

I would reccomend that you see the doc, you r symptoms are not typical GERD symptoms. Difficulty swallowing etc... needs to be checked out

my acid reflux feels like I've drank gasoline after I eat, or like a knife is stuck in my upper chest for the entire day. Dont sound like you have reflux

You probably having esophageal spasms. Sometimes a secondary condition to GERD. Go talk to your Doc.
If your taking creatine, try cutting it out.
