Just started HRT with cypionate

Stats: Age-21
Ht/wt 5-7, 135 pounds
Max Bench-185
BB Curl-100
Dead-235-250

Hello guys, I was referred to here by another user. The last site I was at, the guys were aholes. Anyway, I have been lifting since I was around 14, but serious about it for the past 2 years. I noticed that I never could gain any muscle and recently I started having a decline in libido. I got my test levels checked and my total was 310. Pretty low. The doc started me on 400mg of cypionate yesterday and I get 400mg for the 1st month and then 400mg once a month from then on unless it needs adjusted. I was wondering what I could expect if I lift hard and eat right. My routine is as follows.
Monday-Upper
Flat Bench-1x10,8,8,6,3
Military Press-3x6-8
BB Curl-3x8
Deadlift-3x8
Tuesday-Lower
Leg Press-3x8
Leg Curl-3x8
Calf Raises-3x8

I just do the Upper on Monday and Thur. and Lower on Tues and Frid. I eat 150 grams of protein a day and around 3200 cals. What do you think.

Also, I asked the doc for Nolva and he said that I didn't need it and that he prescribes this all the time and has never had a problem with gyno. Sounds kind of odd, but you guys are the pros.

From everything I've read a once a week injection is much more effective at maintaining even test levels. Also not trying to be an a-hole but get your max curl off of there. It has no place in a serious lifting forum.

SOrry bro, I just wanted to give a perspective of where I am now and was wondering where I might be in say one year of the therapy. I posted in the anabolic forum because it said not to ask questions in here. So, if you would like we can continue in that post. I am new and don't really now how thing are ran.

Hey guys, this is day 5 since my first injection. No major gains yet. I have gained 4 pounds of bodyweight. Strength is still about the same. I am sure that it will increase, it has just not been a long enough time. I am getting my 2nd injection on tuesday. I can't wait for the soreness again, just kidding. I really hope that in 5 months or so I will be 160 pounds or so.

I went ahead and got my 2nd injection today. It has only been 6 days but wtf. I moved up on the bench today and did 175x3 after I finished my workout. I wonder what that would put me at on my max, if I wasn't already wore out. I imagine if I was fresh I could have squeezed 4 or 5 reps out. Still gaining a little weight, maybe a pound today. I have upped the cals about 500-700. I tried to get the doc to let me take my injections home, no way says he. Also, I am stuck with 1 shot of 400mg a month after this first month. Oh well, it is better than no shot I guess.

This just seems a bit odd to me. Is this your family doctor or an endo?

At your age I wouldn't see a doc giving you this kind of HRT setup... unless I am missing something.

Without a doubt, 400mg of testosterone cypionate every four weeks is unacceptable and unhealthy.

I was considering dropping it after the last shot of this month. That would basically be a 4 week roid cycle. I was just wondering if I would be okay as far as my test eventually coming back to where it was before and would I need to take anything after I stopped it. I just am not comfortable doing this kind of setup. I think he is trying to turn me into a looney case or something. I can imagine the let down half way trhough next month. So, do you guys think i should quit after my 4th shot.

Also, family doc. I all ways thought he was a quack, maybe he is. I think he first started me out way too high of a dosage. Also, I think after the 1st month it should be at the worst every other week with 200mg.

I do my hrt shots twice a week to normalize levels, I would go once but not more infrequent than that.

I am an idiot, what do you mean by I would go once but not more infrequent than that. Do you mean that once a month is ok. Also, what was/is your dosage and what test do you use. This crap is really worrying me and I am afraid it is going to end up giving me health problems if I continue it.

this is where research come in bro.

What he is saying is anything less frequent than once a week is going to cause uneven spikes/dips in your blood serum levels.

All types of TEST have an ester attached (prop, enanthate, cyp). In your case it is Cypionate, which has a half-life of about a week. So if you take a shot, than wait a week, the amount your injected will be cut in half (200mg in your case), then another week goes by, and it cuts in half again (100mg) and so on and so forth.

So what you want to do is overlap the half-life of the esterfied hormone you are injecting to keep you blood levels stable.

My advice... get a new fucking doctor. And slap your self for letting a doc you thought was a quack in the first place get you on such a fucked up HRT program.

Well, I figured that someone who spent 10 years in college kind of had a clue of what they were doing. I guess not. My questions are first, is it ok for me to quit this after the first 4 weeks and kind of make it a cycle. Also, if I don't quit it and I am on this stuff forever, are my balls going to go away and I am at a high risk for some bad sides.

To be honest you probably won't see much gained after 4 weeks on Test Cyp. For most people it takes about 3-4 weeks just to kick in! And once a month shots is just stupid...doesn't make any sense to me. It's going to have up cannonballing, up and down and up and down.

If it's really a major problem for you, go a specialst and talk to him. I think their might even be a few on this forum.

As usual, your gains a solely dependent on your diet. If you serious about gettin big, then you should head over to the training forum and take a look at what's goin on their. Your split right now isn't really up to date with the modern style of bodybuilding.

Yeah, I know it is not what most people do, but it is the only thing I have ever got results from. I did the 4 day split for about a year and nothing came from it. Of course, my test was low so that had an effect on the workout.

I think that the hrt is a good idea cause i also had pretty low test and now stay on, im only 23. You have too shoot the test at least once a week Once a month is a horrible plan. Regardless of what your doctor says.
