Just Started - New to TRT

Hello Everyone,

I recently went to the doctor because I have been extremely tired and sluggish, just had no energy at all, and it did not help that I tip the scales at 400 lbs. After a series of blood tests the doctor tells me I have Low-T and suggests I see a specialist. I go and see the specialist and another blood test confirms that my test level is 64 when it should be around 600. The doctor started me on a 160CC injection of test C each week.

What can I expect from this, will it help me in the gym if I start lifting again?

Thanks

160CC is going to have a major effect for sure :-) ( I'm sure you mean 160mg ).
At that dose and your weight I expect you will need something to control estradiol...
Give it a few weeks - if your natural test is that low I'm sure you'll see a dramatic positive effect.

I thought the doctor said 160cc but it might have been 160mg. I just got my second shot today and yes I feel a lot better, I did mention that my nipples were sensitive so he wrote me a script for a estrogen blocker. I am going to start hitting the gym on Monday, will the Test C have any anabolic affect?

Definitely 160mg. Think about how much volume 160cc's are. :-)

Testosterone is anabolic and androgenic. It is what makes men Men.

How much and which Aromatase inhibitor (AI) were you put on? Make sure you get frequent lab tests including estradiol. Getting your estradiol into the sweet spot is often the hardest part of dialing in your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocol.

Are you doing self injections? If not I would push really hard for that. Would a diabetic go to the doc each time he needed some insulin?

I hope you start feeling better soon. testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is a life saver for guys with hypogonadism.

Ha! 160cc's = 5.4 fluid ounces! I don't think you are injecting that much in your quad or glute. :-)

It is ok. I still screw up units of measure too.

Thanks...I do not self inject, the specialist I see does not allow it but I have to admit that I have premium insurance and it cost me $10 every time I get an injection and the doctors office is two blocks from my job. The doctor wants to run blood work every 4-6 weeks and that too only costs me $10 so I think I am lucky on that front.

I am hoping that I can get in the gym and rock out some high intensity workouts and start dropping some weight (fat) while packing on some lean muscle.

What do you do when you are on vacation or traveling for work? Do they come give you the injection while you are in Spain or Brazil?

Well lets see, I have never been out of the country and I have not had a vacation in over 12 years, just not possible in my line of work. I guess if the time comes then I will have to talk to my doctor about it at that time.

A general overall better feeling.
Happier
More energetic
Less procrastination
Morning wood
Increased libido
An overall sense of well being.
Slight loss in body fat (will improve with clean diet & gym regimen.)

It will help in the gym on the sense that you now feel like going to the gym, improving your well being, & motivation. You will see minimum/moderate physical transformation unless you train hard & eat clean. This is based on my experience.

Look for the results to start kicking in around weeks 4-5. I felt better around week 2 but was probably placebo effect. I started similar to you. Test level was under 100 and I weighed in at 440 when I started. Gained 16 pounds my first 2 weeks then got some arimidex. Have lost over 55 pounds now the last 2.5 months. Get your diet right and hit the gym. You will love the results.

Take a vacation for a week or two. That alone will help raise your natty test levels. :-) Seriously, that is not healthy. What type of work do you do that it doesn't permit the taking of vacations?

Thanks for all the information and encouragement! What is arimidex, and what does it do? I work in sales and the sales cycle on projects we work are pretty short so if we take tome off then you run the risk of missing your numbers, which puts you at a risk of being out of a job. I went to work for a new company a year ago so I might get to take some time off this year as they are a very good company and really support a balance between work and home life. I am really interested to know what arimidex is and if there is anything else I should be asking my doctor about?

Thanks Again

Arimidex is an aromatase inhibitor. Short version is that it stops testosterone from converting to estrogen. You use it if your estradiol (a type of estrogen also called E2) gets too high. Best way to tell if it is too high is with a blood test. Get the Estradiol Sensitive test if you can -- but it costs a little more than the regular one.

Nevermind...Megatron beat me to it : )

In short it's a medication used to reduce estrogen levels that are normally elevated from taking T.

The initial purpose was used to treat breast cancer in women or to help shrink or slow tumor growth. Many Dr.'s don't like to subscribe it because though it may serve it's purpose for men utilizing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) treatment; using it as such it outside of it's designed purpose ie....If most Dr.'s were asked to bake a cake most wouldn't substitute Splenda for sugar because it's not exactly by the book per se.

Okay Thanks! My doctor put me on a medication called Anastrozole 1/2 a tab a week to block the estrogen conversion. Is it any good, does the arimidex encourage or aid in fat loss? I'm just trying to see if I can ask my doctor to to switch my medication.

Anastrozole is the generic version of Arimidex. In itself, it will not burn fat. Sorry, there's no panacea out there for fat loss. testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) will help, but it won't do all the work for you.

Google is your friend... You can learn a lot by searching for things like "anastrozole" and reading about it.
