Just started TRT, super high dosages?

Okay, I started TRT on Monday of this week after my 7th blood draw and the last three being under 7nm/L. I am 19, and have been prescribed with 300mg of a compounded test pro/cyp a week. Along with this I have been instructed to take 1mg of Arimidex every 3rd day. All other blood results were normal, I have posted them on here previously to have them examined by knowledgeable people. The only interesting thing about this latest blood draw on Monday, was my cortisol was sky high although I am not stressed at all. Does anybody see any health risks with my high dosage or test? The Dr did state he wanted me at atleast 30nm/L during a peak. Do I need more Arimidex? Let me know, any questions or info needed, shoot me a reply!

The Dr also instructed me that I will be taken off test in 6 months and on HCG to try and get my body producing its own T, but if that fails I will stay on it forever until I decide to have a family. I will see my Dr again next month and ask him about certain things, but:
- will my balls shrinks?
- how long until I see physical but more importantly mental results?
- best place to inject for an athletic person? I just don't want pains because I am training full body every 2 days.
- is there a chance that my medication may decrease my gyno? Or at least make my nipples less massive and pink?

Thanks guys :D sorry I haven't posted in a while, just moved wayyy up north. Like, way up north xD

Are your primary or secondary?

It would probably be better to try the hCG now than after six month the on Test. Being on TRT for six month the will make it harder for the restart to work, not easier.

300mg of test/week and ~2mg of Adex/week are both way too much. Bad protocol to say the least. That Adex dose will have you feeling like "death" in no time at all.

You need a new doc badly. This one sounds like he/she has no idea about how to put together a TRT protocol.

And yes, your balls will shrink. They won't be producing test anymore.

Typically 4-8 weeks to feel effects of TRT. But that high Adex dose is going to undo all the positive effects to the test. And that test dose is too high for TRT. Standard TRT dosages are 100-200mg weekly. Plus having prop in you blend and only pinning once a week is retarded.

Best place to inject are quads, glutes, ventroglutes and glutes. Rotate sites. You will have pain in "virgin" muscles at first. Man up and "rub some dirt on it."

There is a risk that your gyno could get worse if estradiol is not managed. Have you tried using Raloxifene to shrink your gyno?

Not sure, cannot remember the definitions but as I remember my low T was caused possibly by head trauma or perhaps exposure to poisons early in my life.

Okay, thank you! I will bring that up with the Dr!

Yeah, that's what I figured :( is the Adex too high for that T dose? Okay, and I brought the fact of the Adex dosages up the Dr told me that Adex will only stop aromatizing T into E, it wont drop my actually E levels?

Eek, really? Seriously, this is my only shot. There are NO others here in Australia, absolutely no one.

Okay, expected the shrinkage... I can handle that.

Okay, awesome to know!! Ahh, really? Why will it undo the good of the test? Maybe I just 1mg of Adex a week? Yeah, I thought that but being compounded I thought maybe it was weaker or something because the Dr said usually that only gets guys up to 40nm/L. Is Prop's afterlife shorter than cypionate's?

Excellent, why are they the best places? Just because of the pain thing, or? Haha, the first shot did hurt but I'm okay.

I thought the Adex managed estradiol? I have not, but I will maybe ask about that and bring up all these points!

Read the Basic TRT Overview sticky thread in this forum. You are asking a lot of basic questions that are covered in there.

You are better off starting with a low Adex dose and increase if blood work indicates high E2. Crashing your E2 is a horrible horrible horrible feeling that you don't want to experience.

Exactly what I am coming to think now, I will do a quatre pill after every injection and ask him on my next appointment about it all. Thank you :)

This is a horrible route to go. Why TRT off the bat and at doses like that??
What was your LH / FSH levels?
Its not unheard of to hit 900+ ng/ dl TT with HCG mono or clomid at your age thus avoiding TRT for the time being.

I'm not sure, the Dr originally thought HCG to start, but my DHEA, FSHN, LH were all coming back normal so we started TRT.

Horrible seems overdramatic, I will stop taking Adex and ask for a lower T dose, done? I'll get the actual levels in the morning if you like, I need to sleep now though.

I wouldn't call it overdramatic. I definitely agree with the others who have suggested a few protocol changes. Most accounts that I've read from other people who started out with high doses like yours didn't end well at all.

Yes, your E2 can be managed with an AI, but it's much more ideal to get your T up without having to take one. The less you have to mess with your hormones the better. If E2 were the only concern it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but 300mg/wk is not sustainable for most people and will certainly cause adverse health effects.

100mg/wk is a pretty standard starting dose, and you can always increase the dose if needed. I know that more sounds like it would be better, but with TRT it's definitely not. It's a delicate balance of feeling good/alleviating symptoms vs negative side effects.

My guess is that your doctor won't fight you on lowering your doses. Just explain that you'd like to start lower and increase them if necessary so you can avoid complications. At the doses you're taking, complications aren't too far away.

Is your doctor not into hCG along with test? Without hCG, your testes are going to disappear pretty quickly.

For what it's worth I just started TRT myself and I was worried that 100mg was low and all these same guys reassured me it wasn't. Well after 4 weeks on that 100mg dose I just had blood work done yesterday to check peak TT levels and I'm at 943 on a scale of 347-1197. I'm starting to feel really good right now all around. I'm hoping my Dr doesn't lower my dose.

I agree, things definitely need to change and I will call about that today! I'll ask to be taken down to 100mg for myself next injection? I do want to thank everyone for the advice because it's good to get this stuff done early on.

I am stopping Adex immediately, and won't restart until I get E2 results after amonth on TRT.

Okay, I get that all now, thank you!! Going to ask for 100mg a week and no AI until I get bloods in a month. I really do just want to be healthy.

I seriously doubt he will, he's pretty ready to work with me on stuff. I will do that and it should be fine to ask for lower doses.

I'm not sure, but I think he'd be fine with it as he does recommend it when starting a family, or should I use it always?

Awesome, it's worth a lot and I really do appreciate the experience quite a lot. I will ask for 100mg a week and no AI and see where my levels go! Thank you for your input.

Only took four weeks for those levels? That's pretty damn good!

Just spoke with the Dr, he's fine with 100mg a week and stopping AI until if it's necessary. He was not actually too happy I got the info of guys on the internet, but I'll talk to him again during my appointment and explain things further.

You call your doc on a saturday?
You have his cell phone or something?
Since you had him on the phone you should have asked why not try hcg mono or clomid to restart?
