Just starting TRT. First shot done.

For me, there were also time when my weight loss would slow. There is one other thing to keep in mind. How many carbs do you eat daily? If you are keeping your carbs low (if your energy level is down thats a good indicator that they are getting to that point). There is a male hormone called Leptin that is very important in the fat burning process. When your carbs are low for a long period of time, your Leptin levels drop making it hard to burn fat. How do you fix this? Every 5 days you need to eat a ton of carbs that day...keep them clean...brown rice, wheat pasta, wheat bread. You will hear this referred to as a re-feed day or a carb load day. This will help keep your Leptin levels where they need to be, give you something to look forward to and help you keep your sanitiy....
 
My carbs are between 50 to 150 grams a day. I'm using lose it app to keep track of what I eat. After reviewing my daily nutrients I'm surprised to see it swing as much as it has. With the lose it app as you lose weight your daily calories get lower. To try and prevent losing weight to fast. My protein is between 150 to 200 grams a day. But if my carbs are low the fat grams goes up. So I think I'm getting plenty of carbs if I average my weekly nutrient levels. I'm not discouraged and do feel better. I have made strength gains. More reps at higher weights then when I first started liftig. It has been 5 years without lifting. Fills good to be hitting the iron again.

I cant go on any less than 100 carbs a day...energy is zapped. By the book, you should only lost 1 1.5 lbs every 7 days....its a marathon,not a sprint....slow, steady progress....don't get discouraged, your weight can fluctuate daily do to water....
 
Tomorrow will be my 5th shot of test. Last week I went up to 250mg and plan on sticking at that level. Today I did my first shot of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) at 500IU. That needle is so small but I got nervous before the injection. For a guy who could never watch a nurse give me a shot I'm doing pretty good giving them to myself. I wish I could rotate other muscles into rotation with my test shot. But I'm not limber enough to turn and hit my glutes. Being dominately right handed I can't do much on my left side.
As far as results so far my sex drive has increased, I think my wife has noticed that. I do feel more ambitious or motivated. Even after a day of work or traveling I keep hitting the weights. I can't wait for the weather to change so I can get outside and do more. I have been adding weights every week to my lifts. Not sure if this is newbie gains or the test. I am no where near what I was lifting 6 years ago when I stopped lifting.
I do feel an easier aggressveattitude in conflicts. Hope that ease's up.
But I still have not lost any weight since I started TRT. I need to order a body caliper to try and measure fat lost. If I'm gaining muscle and cutting fat I will be happy. My arms are bigger and my chest and stomach measures smaller. So I think I'm on the right track.

I have been eating about 1700 calories a day. I log what I eat this last week I have been hungry almost all the time. My average for the last couple weeks is. Two weeks ago 42 grams fat, 120 grams carbs, and 170 grams protein, a day. Last week, 51 grams fat, 120 grams carbs, and 158 grams protein. This week 46 grams fat, 118 grams carbs, and 150 grams protein.
I don't really want to cut any more calories so I will keep going as I am. I think I may have a cheat day and load up on carbs. I want a stuffed pizza so bad right now. My proteins are mainly fish, chicken and whey. I have only had red meat maybe once every week to two. I'm drinking a lot of water, more then a gallon and half a day. An occasional gas of wine, no soda, and a cup or two of coffee in the morning.

Try mixing in your deltoids with your quads for injections. Delts are really easy to pin. It feels weird putting a 1" needle in there, but you will be fine. You don't have to push it in all the way. You will be able to feel when it is in the muscle.
