Kai Greene banned from 2015 Olympia!?!?!?

Its not 100% for certain but it has something to do with business. Regarding him wanting some booth space at the expo or something. I don't think anyone has confirmed why he is banned for sure yet. You can find more information on instagram and on youtube about it.

He wanted a booth to promote a new supplement/nutrition company hes has or invested in. He wanted to not have to pay some fee's in order to have a booth. They wanted him to pay fee's. I belive the fee's also included what he would have had to pay in order to compete as well.

Fee's ended up either being late or not paid. So he's out

Something like that

not banned... just didnt agree to/like contract so is out. same with Dana Linn Bailey. maybe greed or maybe it was a crappy deal offered, not sure. not banned, just kicked from this event.
they didnt do something illegal to get kicked out. just contracts and politics.
freaking sucks. im a bit pissed too...

Yeah Its just dumb because the whole event exists because the bodybuilder so without them they wouldn't even have the olympia. Its not like the NFL and the competitors get paid millions from the IFBB or anything. They only make money through supplement companies and sponsors etc.

Total disappointment. He's looking absolutely sick this year too. He's getting old...lets hope he's at least got another year in him.

if anyone deserves at least one sandow it's kai greene. from the little i've seen he's looking sick this year. i think it's all politics.. i think they didnt want him there cause they knew he was gonna take it. phil heath looks sick no doubt, but i just dont like that dude at all.

Ya thats what I heard too. Be basically wanted everything for free including entry fees and whatnot. They didnt want to do that. I can see where theyre coming from. He hasnt even won an Olympia so whos he to be asking for free shit.

Not able to compete is a little stupid. So is asking for what he asked for. Either way the whole situation is ridiculous.

the booth explanation is complete bull. if they couldn't come to an agreement about payment for a couple tables he would just not have any tables at the expo not be banned from competing. at this time he has said the IFBB will not allow him to compete and that it was something he never could have predicted so it does not seem he was playing hard ball with negotiations... and that is TOTALLY the opposite of Kai's character, he's been working towards this for 20 years and this would be his first real chance to take it from Phil, u think he'd risk that over an entry fee? it doesn't add up and IMO it will come out in time.

I think it was a culmination of fucking a grapefruit, ditching his sponsor and starting his own supp company, gaining popularity with the NFL deal, and being obviously better than phil and his fans being so vocal about it, also he might be gay... So I don't think it was any one issue, but a combo of they simply do NOT want him being mr. O due to his private life and decisions he's made and they know letting him stand next to Phil and still letting phil win would completely discredit the IFBB. that's my opinion anyways...

most recent pic of phil 1 week out... yea he does look... sick... ;)

It had to do with kai's agent telling him to hold firm on the issue. It appears the agent thought that the IFBB would give in last minute because Mr O wouldn't thrive without the Kai/Phil rivalry. Turns out they held firm also and the deadline passed to sign a contract. When you're in big business like that....not every move you make is your choice. His agent was most likely the antagonist here.

Honestly, the IFBB sucks in many ways but this particular instance I think Kai (and/or moreso his business partners/advisors etc) have to accept a fair bit of responsibility for the situation...

Quoting someone smarter:

Here's my take.

Kai leaves Musclemeds
Musclemeds drop advertising in AMI publications
As a consequence AMI drop Kai (as Musclemeds were essentially paying for that sponsorship in a round about way)
Kai is pissed that AMI can still use his likeness as per the Olympia contract but are no longer paying him.
Kai makes a stand by not signing the contract.
AMI and the IFBB know Kai needs the Olympia more than the Olympia needs Kai, so they stay strong.
Kai cries.

Sounds like his gamble (leave MM, start dynamix etc) is what precipitated the issue but MM's retaliation / collusion with AMI didn't help

Of course signing the damn contract months ago since he "lives to compete in the Olympia" strikes me as a bit of a no brainer unless he was intending to leverage his signature for free booth space from the beginning...

Bold prediction: this is actually the end of his professional bodybuilding career (in any meaningful form)

Bowing out of prague was a huge misstep (imo) then this fiasco...his relationship with oscar was kind of weird but at least he seemed a bit more stable

If he does come back in 2016 he won't be vying for the title, he'll be fighting for a top six finish

The only caveat / alternative I can see is to head over to Europe and dominate the arnold there, and maybe follow up with ohio & brazil...

this may have been one circumstance, but history has shown us that those contract signatures don't mean much and exceptions may or may not be made. there was definitely more going on and I think once kai is done with ifbb he will break his silence on what truly happened.

this is likely much more of a reason than the signature ^ ditching his sponsor, starting his own company, and aggressively landing a deal with the NFL was a huge slap to the industry and he's made a lot of enemies, add that to the grapefruit and whatever else we don't know about his personal life I think the totality of circumstances is why he is being snubbed. It's not simply a signature deadline...

I definitely think those things have and will continue to cause friction between him & the organization, but something as simple as signing and submitting the contract before the deadline would've done a lot to cut this whole issue off at the knees before it even began

i.e. it would've been much more difficult for either side to explain why Kai wouldn't be competing without the public-friendly, easy answer of "contract wasn't signed+submitted on time"

true, but there just has to be more to it than kai holdin out for a table fee? that would be just so out of character and in his video crying he said himself he'd worked for 20 years to get here, this was possibly his ONLY real shot at taking phil down, he doesn't have money problems, just signed a huge deal with the NFL... wtf sense does it make to hold out for 10k in table fees? risking all this for so little, it just doesn't add up and I'm sure more will come out on the topic.

Yea he just didnt sign his contract. Its his own falt. Play by the rules, or go home.

I was never a fan of kai anyways, he acts waaaay to philosophical for my liking.

Get off your high horse
