Keto Diet Recipes

blondie, i think you are misunderstanding keto diets. there is no way that 15g of carbs (primarily fiber) will take you out of ketosis. lettuce will never hurt you, nor will green, fibrous vegetables...you need that fiber. i think you are possibly over analyzing dieting and adding extra unnecessary stress to the process.

you dont need all of these extraneous foods and recipes for keto, just keep it simple - meat, greens, nuts, egg yolks, olive oil for keto, thats all.

im gonna have to agree with D here blonde... he's right

He may be right for him, but for me I wont go into ketosis with over 15g of carbs a day. If either of you have suggestions for me, Id love to try it. Im always open for new ideas, but I found something that finally works for me and wanted to share it with people who may be as carb sensitive as I am.

Excuse me for interrupting this debate lol but what exactly is the main purpose for someone to consider a keto diet? Isnt this something should be used in preparation for doing a show? Just sounds a bit extreme to do for recreation.

keto has its place.. u can shock your body with it..

for overweight people.. its great for dropping bf and sparing lbm...

but it's not anything that should be ran for more then 10 weeks at a time.. imo..

I've just read that for veggies, lettuce, etc you should only consume the size of your fist. I would love to sit down and eat a "big salad" with a tiny amount of a low carb dressing, but I am under the impression that the volume of healthy vegs also effects ketosis...otherwise people would be curbing their hunger with loads of vegs and staying lean...
I agree with you blondie, volume does matter and I appreciate your input.

New thought:
I was thinking about new recipes..something yummy with low carbs to simulate a brownie-ish treat...Have you ever whipped your egg whites into a dream puff (I've never done it but I think I might try), and then add some choc protein or low carb choco flavoring?

At least for me, personally, this is is the case.

I have never tried that, but it sounds good! Im gonna do it today and see how it goes.

Thanks for the great Idea!

( Newbie) Isn't the Keto diet pretty much the same thing as "Paleo". I have a friend that is a paleo freak and never shuts up about it.

every body is different. for me, i have to be 20grams to go ketosis. what works for one person may not work on another. just sayin. and thank god for recipes! in ketosis your brain starts yellin at ya for some carbs and sweet junk food! i find a protein brownie will help alot mentally and keep you on track. i don't see why it's a big deal. just experiment and find what works for you. personally, i support everyone on their journey! its a tough game.

Protein Brownie Cheesecake

1. Mix 1 scoop choc. protein w/ enough water to make it like pudding.

2. Put in microwave for 30 sec - 1 mins.

3. Mix in 2-3 Tbls. of whole milk ricotta cheese

You can also not cook it in the micro. and add the cheese and put it in the freezer for 20-30 mins.

Eat it!

This only has about 3-4g of carbs in it so, it works well for me when Im cutting. Hope you enjoy!

when i ran keto i would also make a "fudge" sometimes by mixing protein powder, coconut oil and a little pb or almond butter then throw it in the freezer for a bit

That sounds good.
Although, is coconut oil suppose to be hardish, not liquid? cause mine is kind of hard.
