Keto

I've been trying to convince Ducky that one tossed salad per day isn't gonna kill her. She won't hear of it.

muscle milk and evopro are lactose free and no problem ;)
Thanks for the heads up. I'm not doing low carb, Atkins. I'm doing keto. NO carbs. I can't even have my cottage cheese. :bawling:

that's impossible though, ducky. you're going to end up with carbs in your food through one way or another.

and keto is less than 20g per day.

if you want to do ckd i recommend you head to www.c-k-d.com

No. No carbs!

Go look it up. A tossed salad is practically nutrition-free, apart from the dressing. Lettuce is like eating water with fiber in it.

Iceberg lettuce is nothing but water. How satisfying is that?

that reminds me - add baby spinach and organic spring mixed greens to my list.

ducky - why are you torturing yourself like this? you should be adding fat and WAAAY more cals into what you're doing or you're going to hurt yourself.

read those articles i posted...

I read them. I'm tweaking as I go.

Ducky, IMO you should get back on a normal diet for now. What you are doing to your body isn't good!!! What you need to do is read through all the info that SLW provided in this thread and if you want some more stuff, I think there are some threads at PremierMuscle.

Db is right, throw in a salad or two. You need the fiber and vitamins and nutrients in the veggies! For dressing add some Olive Oil for some good fats!

For snacks, try some celery with Natty PB on it. Virtually no carbs and the PB will give you some good fats.

Ground Beef and steak should be able to provide you with protein and lots of fats as well.

Whole eggs are also a good addition and don't forget about nuts!!!

I'll give you some more info if you want it, but for now I think you have a lot of stuff to read through. Before you get back on this Keto diet, post a new diet plan, so we can help you out a little more.

I've read all I'm going to read, Easto.

The diet posted was a sample day. That's not the diet I'm sticking too every day. I knew I needed more fats in there, that's why I asked for the advice.

I'm not gonna ditch the whole thing now and start over.

Oh! Thanks for that kink! :)

Today is refeed day so I have today to rework the diet before starting back again tomorrow.

I'll let ya know what I come up with.

Thanks again for the help. :)

Okay....after much reading and MUCH conflicting advice this is what I've come up with.

I've plugged several ratios into Fitday and no matter what I do it comes up with carbs I didn't even realize were there. :dunno: Who knew there were carbs in eggs? So I'm gonna strive to just keep them as low as possible.

This is a sample day and of course it will vary slightly from day to day.

Meal 1: 3 whole scrambled eggs 1TBS Udos
Meal 2: 2 ounces hard cheese (cheddar or the like)
Meal 3: 1 can olive oil packed tuna, tossed salad with grated parmesan and olive oil.
Meal 4: Whey shake
Meal 5: Foreman grilled cut of meat. Steak, pork, salmon or chicken - side salad w olive oil
Meal 6: Whey shake - handfull of almonds

As I've said this is a sample day. Just trying to get a starting point and base to work from.

Feedback welcome of course.

How many calories? carbs? fat? protein?

Good Gawd, Easto you're gonna be my nemisis.

To the best of my calculations (I suck at math) we're looking at this.....

2200 kcals

58% fats 37% protein 5%carbs

This was as close as I could get it.

Feel free to adjust.

When i have some time I will enter the info into www.fitday.com

Ducky, I am only trying to help out.
I understand that, hun. I was relying on the info I was given by another member who had had a lot of success. To me the numbers looked wrong that's why I posted it.

There is soooooo much conflicting advice out there. I'm trying to just glean from it what I can.

Hey Ducky!

The new diet looks MUCH better than the first. Sparkley is right - keto is easy with about 65% of cals from fat, 30% from protein and 5% from carbs. So you are just about on target! Within a day or two your joints will start to feel just fine. Infact, you should feel pretty good on a ketogenic diet. Your stength will go down a bit, but that's about it.

Looks like you are finally getting this nailed down. Good luck.
