knee sergery during a cycle

Just had knee sergery this past Thursday.
I'm 4 weeks into my cycle and was wondering if it had anything to do with the ammount of trauma seen in the photo below.

It seems to be a bit excessive for minor meniscus surgery. I had quite a bit of pain the first day but I was up and walkning on it less the 24 hours later. I even went and did my grocery shopping.

I was expecting a few bruises but this is getting out of hand... How violent was this guy to make my leg look like this ?

It only hurts a bit. I plan on going back to the gym tomorrow but I don't understand all these huge bruises in places that he didn't work on ... I'm starting to think he was using me as a punching bag while I was out.... lol

You do get an increased RBC count while on cycle, but I can't see a reason why this would cause excess trauma. Looks to be just subQ bruising and not something to worry about.

To be safe, I would check with your doctor/surgeon. I don't think you're going to find the comfort you're looking for in a forum.

In addition, I can tell you from experience that surgeons aren't exactly "super gentle" while you're under :) The bruising should subside.

This looks like you were being restrained due to involuntary movement on your part during surgery. I'm not sure but I do know I just went in myself for what I believe to be a slight miniscus tear but my doc says it's just bursitus after the x-ray. Anyway the way he & one other held my knee to put pressure from me moving resembles the same areas of your light bruises. Just curious but what did your pain feel like prior to surgery? Mine hurts when I do leg extensions but then I can squat just fine. It's weird & running makes it hurt as well which is frustrating for me.

I didn't have much pain after I tore the ACL completely. For the most part it would swell up with fluid and just ake.

I always felt like it was about to buckle so I stayed away from any heavy leg work. Most I did was the spin bike to keep the muscle toned. Anything other than that was just asking for further injury.

I had to get an MRI. X-Rays are no good. I had three of them and it didn't show anything. Don't wait like I did.

I've had two ACL surgeries. I would recommend to everyone that Leg Extensions are a no-no. That is one of the main reasons my ACL stretched out. That motion puts an enormous amount of stress on the ligaments. All exercises where your foot is planted are fine.

Regarding the bruising, I never had the bruises you had. After neither surgery. The second surgery was a few months after a long intense cycle. No bruising.

But it hurt like HELL that first day. Anytime they drill into the bone, you're going to suffer. They also snipped some meniscus/cartilage to clean it up from the first surgery. Again, no bruising.
