left gear in cold car for a couple of nights

if its not crashed than its ok, if its crashed just re heat it and it will be fine, By the way how many degrees was outside
Because if its freakin cold and your gear didnt crash at all, thats also strange

The same type of thread popping up EOD about the same thing. You would be able to see clearly if the gear was crashed and if it is made properly you should have not worries about a minor temperature change.

You would know if there was a problem. The fact your asking shows there isnt. Dont worry about it, but dont make a habit of it either.

what do you guys mean by "crashed" , do you mean frozen ?

"crashed" means that the hormone thats been dissolved in the oil recrystalizes. If your gear crashed, you will see crystals floating in the oil. By re heating the oil the crystals will dissolve and become suspended in solution again. Sometimes people put their gear in the freezer on purpose to see if it crashes. This will prove that there is some hormone in the oil. If it were just straight oil, it wouldnt crash. I dont reccomend this test. I suggest finding a good trustworthy source, then you dont have to do this. That test doesnt tell you if its dosed correctly, or even if the right hormone is in there. Hope that "clears" things up for you. No pun intended.
