Lookin for good chest building exercises...

What are some solid ways to pack on mass in the pec dept.? I'm not lookin for some "check out the stickys" answer. Just some good advice, please.

I'm currently on my 1st cycle and gaining weight&strength accordingly. I just lack in the chest area. I weigh approx. 170lbs 5'-8"tall. I do flat bench 135 for 15, then 155 for 10, then 185 for 5. Then incline B.B. 35 for 15, 45 for 10 and 50 for 5. I do 3 sets of 10 dips. I also do the "butterfly style machine" , the same pyramid way w/ the weight. I switch it up of course, Some days I do incline bench instead of flat bench. And then I will do flat B.B. etc...
Just trying to give you bros more to work w/ for the reply.... hope this helps.
 
If traditional bench press isn't doing it for you, I recommend weighted dips, super slow with good form. For me they have been the best pec development exercise.
 
well lets put it this way..youre warming up all wrong..i bench more than you but i always warm up wth the bar..doing 135 for 15 for you proll yis a high rep working set..so in actuality youre not warmng up..i also think youre doing too much work..real fyles with dbells arent that bad theyll help with your shoulders and stuff but you dont need more than 2 work sets of 8-10 reps..

i would pick either flat bench or incline press use a BB
hit 2 work sets of 5 reps..if you get more than 5 reps its only a warmup..take plenty of time in between these sets..make sure you warm up even it requires you to do singles up to your working weight..add weight each week to your 2 work sets

fly's or inlcine dbell presses 2x8
dips declines can be done as well (not all of tem pick 1 or 2)
keep in mind this should be very heavy work this will not take you 5 minutes to do

You're on your first cycle? Of gear? And your asking what's the best exercises for your chest?

Great another critic... Listen bro I know Good exercises I'm asking what are some that would especially target the chest. I'm not looking for your shitty attitude...if you don't have any good advice then fuck you.

What do you expect, and saying fuck you to someone on the internet does not make you tough. I would question why in gods name you are running gear as well, you should have some kind of base before you get to the steroid part of the game. As far as gaining muscle in your chest, heavy presses, and heavy flies. And no more than 6-8 sets for your chest.
 
i understand what hes saying. he probably does have good set routine but his chest might not be gorwing as expected so hes asking for some help from you pros in that area. Know need to judge.

You know good exercises, but you want to know how to target the chest? As JCP said you need a solid foundation of training and nutrition before you start gear. But its too late for that any way....
 
squat and deadlift. do more of that and i promise you your chest, arms, shoulders... whatever, will grow :)
 
its taken me years to get my chest where it is today and theres still more improving and growing to be accomplished. you cant expect to have a chest like arnies after 1 cycle

I think I did have a base before I started my gear. My base is just lower than say yours. Not everyone is genetically inclined. I had stopped gaining strength, so I started the gear. Now I'm getting much stronger. I don't understand why so many on this forum are so damn critical? What did I expect? Well lets see, I said I was asking for some good advice not a wise ass answer. You gave good advice and thats great, I thank you for that. As far as thinking I am tough for saying fuck you to someone on the internet, I do not. I would say it to his face, I could care less. I'm not some punk kid. I am a father of 3 and I have been taking care of myself and my family since I was 18. I just thought this board was to gain knowledge from other experienced people, not get bashed or misjudged for asking a question. Anyways thanks for the advice.
 
here's something that might work for you bro.

i would do the pre-exhaustion technique.


try this:(after warming up with a flat bench(or a compound chest exercise) and stretching)

incline dumbell flyes 2@ 10-12

inline dumbell presses at a 30 degree angle. (the lowest setting you could put in an incline bench) 2@6-8


this should work

also after that you might(or in your case) should add 2 sets of dumbell/machine pullovers to develope the serratus(the muscles surrounding the rib cage) this will help you look more beefed up. kind of like adding mayonaise to your cake mix....makes it feel and taste more thicker.

I think when you are benchin 185 for a few reps on your last set you are just not strong enough. You have to get stronger plain and simple. This is why i questioned why you are using gear, people don't ever want to to here the simple truth, weather they are 18 or 28.

i gotta second both of these guys... i have started doing way more of the two excercises ( squats and deads)and a standard bench ( running 5x5 system) and my chest back arms leggs are freaking growing like weeds ...oh yea u may wanna eat.....nutrition is the biggest part here ....especeally if ur running gear.. oh and by the way u'll get more responces and better help if u straighten out ur attitude and stop jumping down ppl's throats just cuase they say something u dont like.....most of the guys on here are willing to help as u can see....but with an attitude like that many will avoid ur questions and with guys like BB and PB on here and others i wouldnt want to loose good free info like what they can provide..just food for thought..

First off thank you for the advice. Second I don't think I was jumping down anyones throat, just voiceing my opinion as does everyone else on here even if you dont ask for it. And finally third, I LOVE how people like you just love to dick ride some of the mods on here.Just some food for thought. :flipoffha
Oh and one last thing, how do you know how much I eat? I eat a shitload man And I take in an easy 300+ grams of protein a day. If I was'nt I would'nt be gaining weight like I am=12lbs in less than 4 weeks! Not bad for someone like myself. so thanks again
