Ok I'm 5'11" now weighing 276lbs. Went down from 315lbs (largest I've ever been). I know that for the past 14 months or so my strength and body have gotten stronger and looks even more hwp. I've still got a lot of BF to loose. But, my cholestorol and lipid panels are coming back really good for my size (cholestorol is at the cusp 200). I have always been larger, larger bone density, larger everything (thankful for that). I can live with being larger and off the charts, I've accepted that. This plateau has been going on for at least 4 months. I don't eat more than 60gms of carbs a day. Super high protein keto styled diet. I work out 4 days a week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Cardio I usually do Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (if at all some weeks since I'm not trying to loose muscle gains)20 mins with heart rate not going over 160. Here is a typical day give or take:
Take vitamins(Animal Pak, psyllium fiber pills, fish oils) and pre workout (white flood, creatine, BCAAs). Empty stomached Workout no cardio (Usually legs, chest and tris, back and bi's, shoulders and traps in that order throughout the week). Post workout shake (low carb protein, creatine, BCAAs) and then either eggs and sausage whole wheat burrito or just a natures valley 'Honey and Oats'crunchy granola bar pack. snack, handfull or single+ serving of peanuts/cashews/almonds. Lunch is 3 grilled cheeseburgers (no bun) w/mayo,or 2tbls ketchup and mustard (trying to curb the ketchup as its sooooo sugary). snack:2 to 3 servings of whipped cream (reddy whip or cool whip whichever is usually on sale) and good serving/serving and 1/2 nuts sometimes, but not all the time. Dinner Grilled chicken, steak, with mixed veggies, broccolli, green beans and an occasional sweet potato(not more than 2 times a week on the sweet potato recently) sometimes I eat breakfast for dinner (3 to 4 eggs and sausage omlettes with veggies, onions, and peppers) if I'm making the kids whole wheat spaghetti or other carb rich foods. I will eat spaghetti squash every once in a while too. I do make all my own sauces from scratch. All of these are interchanged with other low carb options like tuna salad, chicken salad, etc.
Now all the while I'm doing keto 2 to 3 weeks low carb with an 18 hour window of carb loading. When I loaded carbs I just add bread to what I normally eat. Of course I also eat pizza, non light beer (1 to 2 I'm not a lush). I've been getting bigger and growing muscle wise but my fat loss has totally just stopped. I sometimes think that I'm still lossing fat and gaining muscle as my strength is going up but the scale stays at low to mid 270's. Going up to low to mid 280's when I'm carb loading. The ketosis strips are going from mid to light ketosis to no ketosis when carb loading. Like I said I actually carb loaded this past sunday and now I gained 9 lbs in 2 days. I swear my diet is in check! I have learned to appreciate that diet is the most important thing and believe that. Should I change my diet? If so, what? Thanks
