Low t and looking for advice from the experienced.

Good evening folks.

I'm currently 27 years old. I've had gyno since I was 13. Throughout the process to build a case in order for insurance to cover some of the surgery to remove my gyno I was ordered to see an endocrinologist.

Turns out my T was low. I was put on clomid at 50mg Eod for the better half of a year. My dose was then lowered to 25 mg Eod. For about a half year and then removed from the prescription. My blood was tested throughout. The results from my last test after being removed from clomid showed my T was low again.

An issue I have is every time I see my endocrinologist its 100 bucks. Also, every blood test is about 250. My endocrinologist will only accept lab results from her clinics lab, not the lab my employer has a contract with that provides us discounts.

I'm curious. Do any of you just consult a primary care physician for your low T? That will save me immensely.

Obviously my number 1 goal is to be cured. But Im absolutely broke. I'm in the process of buying my first home and can't be spending almost 400 a month in this.

If clomid for over a year didn't work after I came off... Do you think I'll ever be OK?

Thank you all for your time.

Yes, I consult with my PCP for my hypogonadism. Some won't touch it, but it is doable.

thanks for your response.

Is there any chance if hcg would cure me without having to take it for an extended amount of time if Clomid wasn't effective after I was taken off?

Find a different Endo that will work with your lab. The lab shouldn't matter. I go to my Employers lab which is the one at our hospital. I live in Arizona. My TRT doc is in Vegas. The results are the results, period. That endo will only allow you to go to their lab, because they want the money to go to their clinic. Either they are the owner of the practice, or they have a stake in it. Or, the management says direct everyone to use this lab, so we get the benefit. There's absolutely no reason not to use just about any lab.

Post your blood work results if you can. We really need to see LH, FSH and TT to determine whether a hCG restart is an option for you or not. If you have access to private bloods, or discounted bloods through your work you could easily attempt your own restarts. Just post your results and plans here and we can guide you :)

My primary care doc prescribes my testosterone for me.

How did you feel on clomid? it looks like it was working for you based on your numbers. Have you considered just staying on it?

Very doubtful as clomid tells your body to make LH (signal hormone for testosterone production), and HCG is essentially a fake LH signal itself.

Agreed with this. Unless your getting bad sides from clomid you should just stay on it instead of moving to TRT.

I felt great on clomid. However I never really noticed any of those typical symptoms of low T.

Is there any issues with taking clomid forever? I didn't really notice any side effects in the time I took it, so I'm guessing nothing should really change after over 6 months at 50mg e3d.

My biggest concern is getting Gyno after spending the money on surgery and jumping through hoops to try and get the time off from work. I'll never get another opportunity to redo that.

Did your doctor check blood work for Estradiol? It's the primary cause of gyno.

Your more likely to get gyno from TRT than Clomid monotherapy IMO. No issues with staying on it to my knowledge. I spent around 6 months on it myself.

Not that I'm aware of.

I'm guessing any sort of treatment I try is going to have to be forever. If taking clomid for over a year didn't get my body making enough T on its own then nothing will.

Thank you all for the help so far.

You must always check Estradiol! Man..

Yes, whatever treatment you decide will likely have to be until you die. So pick your poison; oral clomid which is cheaper, or injectable TRT which is more expensive but you can get far more control over your values.. probably need an AI though as well.

I appreciate all your help. You've helped me a ton.

With the results I've showed you from my blood tests, what's the likehood of being sterile? I was hoping for kids in the next couple of years.

Impossible to say based on what you've provided but I'd be very doubtful, unless you have some other kind of underlying fertility issue there. Your testes work fine, they just need to be yelled at a little louder to do a good job. You should check LH and most importantly FSH.

Clomid raised my FSH a good amount, can't remember the exact values right now. You can also see a doctor about fertility testing if you want to know for sure.
