Lower back spasm. What doctor to see

So I was deadlifting back in November and rounded my lower back. Ever since then it spams and tightens up anytime I do any leg exercise or bent over rows. It's cery painful. It gets tight and affects walking and pistire. It eventually goes back down bit anytime I use it it flares up. I have been icing, heating, foam roller, and lacrosse ball on the area and surrounding area this doesn't help. I have had a few deep tissue massages an those were ony a temporary help.

My question is what doctor should I go to? A chiropractor? Or should I go to an orthopedic and get a cortisone shot and muscle relaxers?

Im a big believer in chiro, massage, physio and even plain old stretching my friend, i believe it to be preventative maintenance. In your case it even more important, as you have an injury. Which ever you go to make them aware of the injury though. With you back being slightly weaker now and maybe bad posture it wouldnt be that hard to slip a disk or something

Simply resting it and walking would probably be the best thing.

I took a whole month off from anything involving my erector spinae and similar muscles. No legs, no core work, no bent over rows etc. Just back machines, shoulders, arms, chest and some light cardio but even that hurts it. This was back during the week of thanksgiving so I think it some to see an MD or chiro as my self treatment isn't working

Do u think a cortisone shot would help it?

I have no experience with cortisone shots. I do however know two people with back issues, one had a slipped disk and cortisol does nothing for him. The other deals with chronic back pain and cortisol does work for him. Cortisol wont heal you, it will mask the pain, you want to rehab and heal your back it get as close to that as you can. Do you have insurance or medical coverage that covers those types of services?

My logic behind the shot is that it can reduce inflammation then I'll just go back to resting it andah e also so a chiro in addition. And continue to self rehab. I gve up on resting as it didn't get better after 4-5weeks of no workout. Very stubborn should have wnt to a doc earlier

Saw a doc, well a nurse practitioner but whatever she hooked me up. Gave me a shot starts with a T, it was an anti infalmTory. As well as 800mg ibprofuen and muscle relaxer. I tried to do a plyometric workout for legs since I can't squat or leg press with weights I figured id do some plyo moves to at least work my legs. And my back still cramp and spasm up.
All I did was jump squats, lunge jumps, lunges, ski jumps frog jumps. Nothing with wieght. Used prefect form. My squat form is on point so it's not Thayer. Guess I'll have to focus on upper body for the time being and stick to stairmaster for legs

I had a similar injury about 2 years ago. Went to a chiro and he put me on a stim machine 3 times a week for a few weeks and it worked great! I wouldn't do any jumping either it puts a lot of strain on your lower back.

Ya no wonder it hurt so bad haha. I'm hust gonna do cardio instead of legs.
What is a stim machine? Is of similar to and ultra sound? Something that reduces inflammation?

Do they? Why exactly do they do? These muscle relaxers blow. Foam rolling and lacrosse ball to to right areas works but temporally. This is getting me down as squats and deadlifts are my crack.
Love them can't stand not training legs

Are you sure this is not from the high doses of gear? Maybe try supplementing with Taurine and Magnesium Citrate.

How would high doses of gear affect it? Just curious I never considered it.

But no this happend on 500mg test weekly and 50 adarol daily
I was deadlifting and did not warm up well enough and rounded my back and felt it cramp immedialty.

It ha been spasm for a few weeks as I was deadlifting a lot. 6 working sets every week. Any wjere from 8 reps at 405 to 450 for 4 so it's a mix of over use and a rep with bad form. Usually form is spot on but shit happens. This was back in nov.

I rested it then got back into legs no deads and it was good but then did a heavy leg day and re aggregated it. So no legs for now other than step ups, extensions and curls. Shitty leg work but need to get the back healthy. And also no belt over rows or standing presse. Light in barbell curls to avoid any back strain even though my form is spot on but better safe than sorry as I know now

I can't explain it, maybe something about the nitrogen retention causes muscle cramping and spasms, at least for me. I wouldn't be at all suprised if the anadrol can do that. I had a lot of problems with my neck and upper back (on way lower doses).

I have no other issues just the left erector spinae. The doc and message therapist could feel the tightness. An also I showed a video of my lift when hurt it to. Poweidter and he said it def strained that muscle. The only other pain I had is shoulder tendinitis if I overdo dips or incline flyes. But that's only when I over do it no spasms or cramps anywhere else. And it only Burt's if I aggrevate it. I can feel it tight at rest but no pain

Honestly I should have rested as soon as the onset but I was so motivated and making gains I listed through it. I'm not gonna do anything that aggregates or for at least 6 weeks which means m legs and deadlifts will go down. But better to get healthy I can always gain it back. Mean time focus on the upper body and cardio
