Mass and cardio

4-5 times per weel for 60 mins?

And it doesn't eat into muscle? The majority of ppl would lose a fair bit of muscle together with fat. You would get better results from interval training, AND save yourself a whole heap of time.

I just have to say... it's a little unrealistic to expect to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time if you are natural. Like others said, diet is the most important part of losing fat. If you are eating enough to gain muscle, then you are eating too much to lose fat. That's assuming you aren't on drugs, of course.

Whate are you stats?

So I take it you took it as a personal attack or something????

If u have the time to spend so much time on cardio, then good for you. However, one can get the same results from interval training, not spending anywhere near as much time as u do with your cardio.

Secondly, maybe not in your case, but the majority of people, doing so much cardio would eat into muscles and fat. Period. Go read the literature.

Oh and if you don’t know anything about interval training/sprints then start by reading Loki’s articles on the subject in Mindsand Muscle Magazine, you may find some useful tools for your training.

What I am saying is what worked for me might work for someone else. Did you tkae this as a personeal attack? That was not intended.

bud, no not as a personal attack on me. All I'm simply trying to say is that most people only focus on jogging and such as cardio for losing fat. Not many consider or realise the benefits of interal training, cause they simply don't know. So they just go out, jog like mad, lose BW, but their composition doesn't change a great deal.

Peace amigo.

Here's my split when would be the best days for doing sprint training with this routine?

Monday: Shoulders/tri’s/abs
Tuesday: Back/traps/neck
Friday: Chest/bi’s/abs
Saturday: Legs/neck

it's funny that i played football, hockey and lacrosse most of my life yet totally forgot about the wonders off hill trainign and sprints.

p.s i only ask about the bike because its winter in canada and that means i aint running outside and there is no track aorund me... and i hate using the treadmillsl for sprints because theres no instant spinrt button, so you have to crank it up manually and by the time you get to that speed your dead... PLUS it sounds like a elephant is running in the gym because your banging so loud while running (quite embarassing!)

High intensity training, like sprints, etc, uses glycogen and aminos as its main energy source (anerobic). Endurance style (low intensity cardio, aerobics) uses freed fatty acids in the blood as its main source of energy.

Basically boils down to the same ancient problem. High intensity cardio = more total cals, but less percentage from fat. Low intensity cardio = less cals, more percentage from fat.
