Massage after training.

I think this is the right board to post this on.

Say i train back on monday, when do you think you should have a massage?

Straight after? Next day? Once the aching from training has gone?

Does the timing of the massage effect the muscles recovering or does it not make a difference?

Same questions go for all body parts.

I think it depends when you want your happy ending......man you asked for it with that question. :)

So yea, I think it would be best to have a massage of the muscles used completed with in 36 hours of that workout. As this is the time that the muscles in that area will be needing recovery and replenishment of nutrients. It will help shuttle blood and nutrients into the muscle and help it repair from the workout.
Just my 2cc's
p.s. Who and where do you get your massage does your girl do it, do you go to a therapist, (preferably female) or do you know some one that you have hook up with to massage the muscle correctly for the purpose of recovery??

The missus is a trained masseuese (poor spelling) so i have been getting massages after each training session. It defiantely helps and my legs don't feel so bad after heavy squats. I was just throwing the question out there incase someone has info saying it was bad to massage straight away or something.

And before you ask, all my massages finish with a happy ending ha ha

i get a 1hr deep tissue massage 1x a week. usually on fridays cuz that's when it's most convenient for me. i wouldn't overanalyze shit like if it's before/after a workout. just get it done.

i could say that a day after workout massage is a waste of time and a pain in the ass. i'd prefer DC stretching or your choice of stretching rather than massages. but, that's just me
