milk

So I read somewhere on the board somebody drinks a gallon a day of milk? Well I started drinking alot more milk lately [especially with my protein shakes] and my friend told me that it wasnt good for me to drink alot of milk... he said his grandfather had to get surgery from it because calcium build up on the bones.

Anyone know anything about this or any other side effect? The shits good.

i have the onset symptoms of diabetes and if I eat sugars in some things ill almost pass out from it occasionally. can I still drink lots of milk?

I'm still scarred to drink milk while cutting. I've cut out virtually all sugar except for the 3 or so grams from the Splenda brown sugar in my oats. I don't want any processed sugar sneaking into my diet. In the cutting primer sticky it mentions not recommending milk also. Although the 138 grams of protien per gallon seems tempting since a gallon of milk is $2 and some change and a pound and a quater of chicken is like $6. Not that I would cut out the solid source of protein but damn, you sure could save some money but supplimenting. All in all it was a great article and really got me thinking about the benefits of milk but I think I will wait until I've got my BF% down to where I want it before I experiment with trying to add it.

If your trying to cut then milk is def. a big no no, all dairy products I stay clear of in fact while cutting. Of course if your bulking then milk it up! lol

I'm bulking for 3 more weeks and I drink skim milk every day. Cutting my coaches are going to cut it out. I actually don't think they need to because I tolerate dairy very well. I don't get bloated or retain water at all. But since this will be my first competition I will do as they say and see how my body reacts.

I wouldn't be concerned with drinking a little milk in the morning or with your oatmeal, a gallon while cutting is certainly out of the picture.

also, checkout the book SUPER SQUATS by Strossen..... find it at ironmind.com. talks about milk as well, has GREAT info and a must read in my book
