Shut up and squat !
Anyone here got results using minoxidil ? I'm prone to hairloss, and i see like 10-15 hairs everyday in my sink when i wash hairs. So i started using minoxidil 2% 1ml at the morning and the evening 40 days ago, and it doesnt seem to do anything.. is it too short to tell ?

well bro if you have hair like that saskwatch in your avatar..its ok but i take it your hair is alot shorter huh....

40 days isn't enough time to gauge effectiveness, or lack there of. You really need to give it atleast 3 months.

Remember though, minoxidil is a hair stimulant (and a relatively mild one at that). It does nothing to disrupt the fundamental process of MPB. 5ar-inhibitors (fin/dut) attack hair loss from the DHT angle. Topical anti-androgens (such as spiro) do the same, although on a local level. It is best to include either fin or dut along with a topical anti-androgen as part of any hair loss regimen. Minoxidil is a good addition if the other two are already in place. Nizoral shampoo a few times per week cannot hurt things either, as its cheap and helps keep inflammation (another aspect of MPB) to a minimum.

Thanks a lot for this answer, I actually have to take minoxidil for 3 months and then I go back to my doctor and we check the results. I was hoping to get proscar prescribed but she said i should start with minoxidil first.. what i think is that i'm loosing 3 months! I only take proscar during cycles atm caus that shit expensive on the black market..

I'll search for spiro this seems good

Whats the full name of spiro so I can google it?

Spironolactone.

A few places here in the U.S. sell it. I get mine from minoxidil.com.

You can always purchase Aldactone tabs, crush them into a fine powder, and make your own solution/cream.

I dunno what the importation laws are in your country, but finasteride and dutasteride are available from countless, reliable online pharmacies.

yeah i cant get proscar/fin/dust here in france without a prescription. I could buy them online but if a doc prescribes it i get it way much cheaper.

Do you know about Retinoic Acid ?

10-15 hairs in the sink isn't too bad, normal hair loss is about 100 hairs a day, so that's the first thing.

The 'standard' hair loss treatment, at least in our clinic for male pattern baldness, would mix Propecia and Minoxidil, the two FDA approved drugs. Propecia inhibits the effect of testosterone on hair follicles (if they have the genes that make then sensitive) and Minoxidil is a stimulant. I'm not an expert on doping laws, but I believe Propecia is not allowed for competing athletes.

The strength of the Minoxidil you use is also important, we can provide up to 12.5% on prescription.

And yes, 40 days isn't long enough to know. 6 months is more like it. Take a scalp photograph under lighting conditions you can replicate, then check later.

I work for a hair loss clinic in London, here's our page on male pattern baldness Male Hair Loss: Male Hair Loss Treatments, Products & Advice . You can get hair loss treatment online too if you want: The Belgravia Centre UK hair loss and scalp problem clinic

Hope that helps, feel free to ask if you have other questions.

Cheers
J

Kane have u tried/heard about spiro ?

No, i used finasteride and minoxidil.

finasteride cycle of 5 months and mino 2% everyday.

this is not a miracle. but it work.

BTW, in you country, people shaven are popular. every singer of rap or RNB are shaven.

So i guess, if you choose that way you will feel better.

ther's a long time your hair make you opset. shave it, and forget it.

give to your self a new style.

Minox does work for most people just to varied degrees.

If you can stand the sides of DHT blockers they are the way to go.

If you can stand the smell of spiro that also works well.

your doc is fu#$ing with your hair by allowing you to lose it for 3-6 more months. When you get diagnosed with MPB the first thing you do is lower DHT, meaning your doc should have prescribed propecia and told you you also have the option of using minox.

The longer you wait, the more irreversible it gets. Tell your doc to shuv it and find someone to prescribe you what you need. 2% minox is by no means going to be an especially effective or longterm solution.

What kind of sides have you experienced/heard about with dht blockers?

I'm on fin since 1 month now and seems great
Gave my libido the biggest beat-down of all time, which continued for at least a couple months after discontinuing use. Also, just felt a general malaise on it.

I've used Propecia for around 5 years now & it's worked great for me. I don't have any noticable side effects. I tried Rogaine for around 6-8 months prior to starting Propecia & never noticed any inprovement in hairloss.

I've been taking Minoxidil for several years. I believe that it geatly slows the rate of hair loss, but doesn't regrow any lost hair (at least for me). My hair has been slowly thinning for a long time. I used to notice lots of hair in the shower/sink before I started Minoxidil. Now there are very few. My younger brother went from thinning hair to completely bald in about 3 years. I could possibly have had the same experience without the minoxidil.
