My Lab work and a couple questions...

Had been on androgel for months and it wasn't really doing much. My doc ordered labwork and since that time I've been switched to test cyp at 100 mg/week. Not sure what my blood work will look like with this instead of the androel but I don't really feel any different. My question about the lab work is with my Estradiol level...53 seems a bit high. I know my doc will be hesitant to prescribe anything to help so I thought I might do it on my own. I read the recent post about the different anti-estrogen strategies but I'm wondering what would be my best option for my particular case and reasonably priced. I don't need the cheapest but I don't think I can afford Arimidex either. My pre-TRT test level was in the low 100's. I'm 43, a bit overweight (6'3" and 240 lbs...not a lot of muscle) and a fat distribution that seems to favor lower belly and hips. Any input is greatly appreciated guys and thanks in advance.

Test, total - 307

Test, bioavilable - 114

Test - 3.73

Estradiol - 53

TSH - 3.52

Free T4 - 0.87

HDL - 30 (has always been low..this sucks)

The estrogen..lower your BF bro, eat healthier and dont drink alcohol.

Your Testosterone is low. I wouldn't be happy with that....I'd have the doctor get you in the upper high end.

So I did a little research and learned that aromatase, which converts testosterone to estrogen, is found in fat cells among other places. So, the more fat you have the more testosterone can be converted to estrogen. Makes sense that lowering body fat can reduce estrogen. Has this been studied? Will reducing BF substantially lower it? Are there other ways to reduce it such as dietary or supplements? Sorry for all the questions...

Personally, I dont see a point in introducing a second supplement atleast until the first one is corrected. Its pretty simple as suggested above - start with losing the fat then evaluate and go from there.

If your doc raises your test level any you may want to consider a very low dose of an AI.Atleast till you lower your bf then taper down then hopefully off.

I think decreasing your BF will help but I think you also need to focus on increasing your Testosterone level now. Using a low dose of an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) will help stop some of of that Aromatase and increase Testosterone levels slightly. Just be careful about the dosage so you don't lower estro to much.... Lowering estro to much can be counter productive and cause some sides.
If the 100mg a week doesn't increase your levels to the middle/upper range I'd ask your doc to raise the dosage just a bit.
