my own 5x5

was thinking of doing a 5x5 workout 3x a week as follows:

mon- incline bb, squat, deads

wed- flat bb, leg press, rack pulls

fri- decline bb, hack squat, bb rows

its like 5x5 but with variety, thoughts?

What about replacing the Leg Press and Hack Squats with Front Squats and Overhead Squats? I think one of the key aspects of using any 5x5 routine is to keep the exercises as basic and as compound as possible avoiding all sorts of machines.

For me, I'd most likely include some Power Cleans or Power Snatches instead of the Rack Pulls for variety.

cleans are an amazing exercise. def include them.

5 that should always be in there imo are:

cleans
deads
squats
bench
military press

in some free weight variation. they'll help you build stabilizing muscles which machines don't do as well.
