There was an interesting article in The New England Journal of Medicine. It describes a young boy born with a mutation that inactivates myostatin (a normal protein that suppresses muscle growth) and is already developing extreme muscular hypertrophy. Another interesting aspect was that the high muscle mass also produced extreme fat loss. His mother and father each carried the defect and are described as highly muscular
