New doc wants me off to retest

It's been 11 days since my last shot of test c and I stopped hCG on the 14th.

To be honest, I don't feel any different. I found out I had sleep apnea so I got a machine and I sleep better now and I'm not tired during the day anymore.

We'll see what happens as the days go by.

You still have T in your system from the TRT. You were on it for 21 weeks.
Tell us how you feel 2-3 weeks from now...

Well, it's week 3 and I'm tired in the afternoon (might take a nap or two), my sex drive is down and I lost a little weight (I was 225 and now I'm 210). I'm thinking the weight loss might be from not going to the gym and letting my diet slip. I haven't been there for 3 weeks so I'm gonna get back on the horse and hit the gym and get more protein in me.

I'm hoping that this is mental and I can kick myself in the ass and get my motivation back.

This is just me, but if I was put in that situation I sure as hell wouldn't stop my protocol and go through having low t to prove to a blood test.

Rather, I would stop the long ester and run Prop upto a week before said test.

Alternatively, drop the Test and keep running the hCG upto a week before test.

This is something that irritates me and I do not entertain such requests unless it is a life or death situation. In which this case it does not seem to be. Don't let these people tread on you!!!!!!

What about clearance times ?
he has another week to go. If he did such a stunt... lol
his test would come back high(er) than a hypogondal level.

You have my sympathies man.

It's downright irresponsible and IDIOTIC to request a hypogonadal male with a case history PROVING such to go back to such levels. I've had the discussion with more than one endocrinologist about this and no matter how hard they try to cajole me into letting them make me into their science experiment, I flatly refuse and present them with the fact that even if I didn't need TRT to begin with, after being on for an extended period of time, I would likely exhibit secondary hypogonadism regardless due to how the negative feedback loop functions.

Changed docs for my type II diabetes; did they ask me to stop my drugs so they could see a pretty 500mg/dL blood glucose or HbA1C of 9? Nope. She simply wanted current readings and asked if I wanted to adjust my insulin doses as I'm fighting for an optimal hormone profile in all arenas. Talk about the dreaded testosterone though, and we're right back to the silly base-line horse puckey.

You're a stronger man than I am Cobra. I spent a decade being hypogonadal, and will never go back. Ever. I wish you a speedy process and that they don't pull any more crap on you as you are trying to seek help with your quality of life.

My .02c :)

This last week has been miserable. I was thinking of holding out for another week but I've lost all motivation for everything. Haven't been to the gym since I went off, soft erections, no libido and I sleep all day and can't sleep at night. When I'm at work (and not sleeping), I'm just sitting there. Thank God I sit behind a desk all day and I have my own office where I can close the door.

I kept telling myself that all this is in my head and that I can get past it, but it's freakin' tough.

I'm gonna get the blood test tomorrow instead of next Friday, so that'll mean that I was off for 4 weeks instead of 5 and if the guys at the VA don't like it, I'll just continue with my regular doctor.

It's not worth it to save a little bit of money a month.

In retrospect, I wish I stood my ground. If I could do it all over again, I would have told them no and if they don't want to treat me, I'll just continue with my regular doc.

I'm down to 205 now and it's probably muscle. My bodyfat at 225 was 17% and at 205, it's 19%!!! Everyone that sees me asks, "what happened? You got smaller. Are you sick?" It's probably due ot lack of exercise but also, I lost my appetite for the past month. It's been hard just wanting to eat.

Yup. Appetite seems to come down for me as well when coming off TRT. Also after you have lunch you feel tired and like lying down...is this the case with you too Cobra ?
better photocopy them labs and have on hand so you never go through this b.s. again.

I'm going to scan them and store them on an app on my phone. I'm getting the blood test tomorrow and will start back on TRT next week. I'm going to frontload 200mg's that first week and then start on 100mg's until a blood test 6 weeks later.

If the VA gives me a bad protocol, then I'll jsut go back to my regular doc. I'm tired of the games.

About the eating, you are so right. I eat lunch, then I'm asleep. When I'm at work, I skip it just so I don't doze off at the job.

Take today for instance. All I had today was an apple and water. I just have no appetite.

I just got my results in (April 2014) - 4 weeks off TRT after 21 weeks on TRT.
FSH - 3.4 (ref 1-12)
LH - 3.0 (ref 2-12)
Prolactin - 8.6 (ref 3-19)
TSH - 0.719 (ref 0.350-5.5)
Testosterone Total (Labcorp) - 292 (ref 348-1197)
Testosterone Total (VA) - 210.17 (ref 270-1194)
Testosterone Free - 8.88 (ref 5-21)
Testosterone free/Testosterone Total - 3.04% (ref 1.5-3.2)

For comparison's sake, April of 2013 (Quest Labs) - before TRT
LH = 4.1 Ref (1.5-9.3 mIU/mL)
FSH = 3.9 Ref (1.6-8.0 mIU/mL)
Prolactin = 11.6 Ref (2.0-18.0 ng/mL)
Estradiol = 23 Ref (< or = 39pg/mL)
Testosterone, Total, Males = 290 Ref (241-827 ng/dL)

Here is May of 2013 (Quality Labs) - before TRT
Testosterone, Total, 277 Ref 241-827
Testosterone, Free, 59.8 REF 47-244pg/mL
SHBG 27 REF 13-71nmol/L
TSH, 3rd Generation, 0.72 REF 0.51-6.27uIU/mL

It looks like I went right back to square 1 after stopping cold turkey for 4 weeks after being on for 21 weeks. I took 2 shots of 100mg's each last week (frontload) and 3x 250 iu's of HCG. Now I'm going to start 50mg's 2X a week. I haven't really felt anything so far except that my erection was stronger in the latter part of the week.

I'm seeing the docs this Wednesday. I'll see what they say. If we cna't have a meeting of the minds, then I'll just continue with my current TRT doc and move everything else over to the VA.

Thanks
