I'd have chest and back on their own days for sure
Back/bis
chest/shoudlers/tris
Legs
abs and cardio whenever

thats almost exactly the routine that I've been doing before I started doing this one. I read an article about how doing opposite muscles, like bi / tri, not only brings more blood into the area, but it also increase numbers. They pointed out how many guys in bench comps do heavy deads before they go for their push. People said they often get extra reps from doing an opposing bodypart immediately before. Also I remember vander saying for arms do bi and tris together.

I might move lower back to the leg day to cut down on the time I'm in the gym on Mondays but I'm not sure yet.

this si not a routine-that is called a split
and it REALLY matters what it is you do on those days
i can tell you that typicall BB'ing splits like therse are useless for most people
try it out see if you make any gains-if not come back here and well get you straight

well...how well was your old routine working?? Were u still making gains??
If not, try your new split and see what happens. I did one kinda like that a couple yrs back and didn't have near the results STRENGTH wise...i was pretty toned, had good indurance, but wasn't as strong. Guess i wasn't doing dl's or squats at that time etiher though. Just try it and see. Alot of the routines u get from those muscle fiction magazines are from pros that have trained for yrs and are on a shitload of gear. But u'll never know til ya try.

I've been doing the old routine for almost a year now, making gains I would guess but verrrry slowly. I figured I needed to mix things up a bit and try something new and this didn't sound too bad, especially since its only 3 days a week lifting and the other days I can start doing cardio. JBeam what does your routine look like now? Also what were some of the negatives to this kind of program when you did it?

What is it that matters for the days, reps, exercises, frequency, volume, etc? And do you think that that my previous workout schedule was better than this one? My diet wasn't even really close to in check but as of lately I've cleaned it up quite a bit

Also in your opinion how long would you say it takes to "try" out a new program, like to see if its beneficial or even worth continuing, a few months?

On second thought I think I'm gonna go with the DC training. It sounds like a solid program
