Newbie looking for support!

** Great start - thought i posted this in female area, mods feel free to move it please, sorry! **

Hi ladies (& gents)

I am new on here after browsing for months at some very interesting FAQs and threads, I thought I would join!

A bit about me:

I'm 24
5"8
176lbs (79.8kg)


I've come a long way. I was always an unhealthy child, not enjoying exerise, and eating crap, and surprise surprise, was overweight.

I was always confident and loud but hated myself, and took a huge step in March 06 to start my weight loss.

I had a gastric band fitted, which helped me with portion control.

I don't expect to be shot down in flames for my decision to have this, as its a tool you have to work hard with, and not a magic cure.

I at this point weighed 245.6lbs (111.4kg).


So.. Thats 69.6lbs down, and am aiming to get to 140 - 150lbs.

I have never weighed less than I do now, yet know i can still go a long way.


Have been training 3-4x per week doing an hour cardio, and swimming 3x per week, as well as a 2hr walk twice a week. (when i can't get to the gym).


I guess the reason for me joining is i'm just looking for a bit of support, help and encouragement from people who have also been on incredible journeys to how they look now!

If anyone wants to, feel free to point me in the direction of journals etc etc with weight loss i'd love to see!

Oh, bottom note - this past week have noticed a big change that i have perter breasts than before, but smaller!! (literally just the past week!!) Normal i guess?!

By the sounds of things you've made some amazing progress, Shrimp. Make sure you keep your own journal of what works and doesn't work for you so that you've got notes to look back on. These will come in handy in the future when people are asking YOU for the advice. Keep us updated!

P.S As far as your boobs go, you might have to ask some of the ladies on here :)

It sounds like you have the will, attitude and determination to get to where you want to be. I'm sure you will get there! We have a great group of ladies here that are active on the board that I'm sure you will soon meet and get to know. They are very helpful

Hello Shrimp
Well done on your progress and keep up the exercising as of January 2012 I have also started on a journey to get rid of my fat. I havent tested my body fat but was looking a pictures of people with different BF % and im thinking that im between 20 - 25 %
My stats currently is 168cm(66.1inch), 105kg(231pounds). Im following a diet and weight training regimen and will add cardio this week.

A food journal will totally help you out. I use a free site to track all my calories in and excercise... Not going to plug it on here but feel free to message me and I will send you over to it...
 
Congrats on your progress. Sounds like you have all the tools you need. Just takes time. On the boobs question I am sure it is normal for loosing the amount of weight you lost but the girls on here will know more.

x2x on this idea....if you have a smart fone it will have apps for this....buy/download and start using. it will make things easier when you look at all the food you will eat in a day.
