ocd - ocd - ocd - ocd

LOL - no no you didn't hijack it - I stated it out as a joke - please keep going. :D

@ Jimbo - you are absolutely right our $ is turning into IOU's - right now we have the inmates running the asylum.

Here's part of the reason - VP Biden sleeping through the budget speech.

YouTube - Biden Falls Asleep During Obama Budget Speech

And they just finished the budget that should have been done last year - it's a wonder why Washington is all screwed up.

Wait...you mean being ran by crooked selfish rich bastards with no intent to sacrifice anything to help the common people is not the reason?

Damn...Ive been wrong all along. :bigok:

I know what your saying Zero, I noticed my daughter's behavior issues early on, but refused to label her, tried changing her diet, I really cook everything from scratch, I don't let her drink juice, or anything that has added sugar, she had a very structured routine, I tried every thing I could possibly think or researched about.

She was diagnosed about 3 months ago, after years of hearing from school & daycares that I should have her evaluated.

She is a brilliant child, extremely artistic, and so bright.

I know that her behavior is not intentional, I don't sweat the samll stuff, I keep things in perspective, & keep a positive attitute with her at all times.

It could be challenging, I was against medicating her & so was Mr P, I believe in the power of the mind, & how we can teach her to tame her mind, we actually do this as a routine with her, we let her know that she has a unique mind, & that she can use it to her advantage, I let her know it's not a disability, I see it as a gift & let her know as well.

as far as the meds, It has helped her when it comes to school, she only takes it M-F, But I still work with her in training her mind, hopefully she can be off the meds soon.

Glad to see your doing better these days !
Thanks for your reply.. :)

Mrs P I think I like you more and more every day. It takes a lot of effort to go to those lengths for your kids. I have studied this stuff extensively. I have a few cousins who couldn't function without the meds. It totally changed there lives in a positive way. You should check out The Weston A. Price Foundation It is one of my favorite sources of information on traditional nutrition. You should get your daughter into a yoga class. It will do wonders on focus and it's fun for kids to take a class with adults. Go take a class with her. Controlled refined physical activity does wonders for a persons self mastery.

Mrs. P, Zero DPR I m more and more impressed by ya ll s commitment to interacting and being involved without taking the easy way out.

The differance between cocaine and ryalin is one carbon molecule.

I too am very hard on myself..house needs to be clean if not orderly..yard and car as well.

I M O teacher s and schools can t have a distracted kid..i e highly intelligent.

My son is off the scale smart and he ll be 5 on 5-8-11. I see an upcoming potential problem with it as he s so smart and his cognitive reasoning and vocabulary are so far ahead that he may be a handful. He get s bored as he grasps things really quickly and want s to move on.

Luckily our attention to manners and to being used to behaving within the realm of acceptable behavior in relation to listening authority figues is working out real well.

His mom is brilliant.

I m a lucky man.

Well I was very much like your son. My teachers knew I was smarter then them in 2nd grade. They also knew I would never be satisfied to sit in class and do busy work. My son is a handful to. I've been really considering bringing in a teacher to my house. But Boys need to be part of the pack. It's a double edged sword. He will be headed to private school here in the Fall.

My wife pointed out to me that all the kids from church who worked around the house for us ( we've tried to had the natural love of learning drummed out of them by the public schools here. That really hit home with me. The public schools are about submission and conformity. It's not what I want for my son. I have problem with it.

I think I feel a parents forum coming on

you know as a father, I had my baby girl 9 years ago, I could remember every moment after I had her, she was perfect, nothing wrong with her, I felt complete, never felt such great innocense love for anything, or anyone...

She was a great baby, toddler, I did notice she was a bit different & had her own unique persona, I loved every minute of it,
Mrs P & I would ask our selves over and over again, Do u think she will be labed ?

Never in my mind did I think she was wierd, or less than other kids her age, she was brilliant, faster thinker than me, & soooooo bright, so I thought what's wrong with being different ???

I was different as a kid too, then we decided to put her in a day care, it didn't go that well, we took her out & decided it would be in her best interest to home school her, so we did for 2 years, she did well academically, but not so good socially. so she asked us to put her in school, and we did ...
so, 1 year later she was diagnosed with ADHD, my wife & I have tried every different treatment, therapy out there, we always help her & remind her, she is not less than any other kid, she is unique & brilliant.

I hope she grows up to be the great person I see in her, & I hope she can see how amazing her mind is.

Mr P We who think faster than others are born with the natural talent to manage multiple projects at the same time it's call multi-tasking. In the case of my cousins they were so hyper that they were always buzzing around done and not learning and unable to focus and process to long term memory. THe younger one of the 2 was 3 years old and not talking well. With meds she's going to College now. My aunt felt the same way you have it's verbatim word for word.

THe cool things about the meds is it helps them be able to focus to learn the skills they will need to take advantage of the natural gift they have.

Hey Mr & Mrs P - I'll tell you what...

I'm a big advertising & marketing fanatic - and the most brilliant marketing consultant alive today is very similar with something like ADHD if not ADHD.

His mind is incredible - no college - and I is worth billions - years ago his fee was $5,000 an hour over the phone - $25,000 seminars and has turned around major corporations.

He charges companies 25% of all profit increases - above previous profits.

As a result of his consulting - 8-10 years ago he was responsible for over $7 billion ... "25% of $7 billion - do the math!"

I have a book that he sells for $1,000 - I didn't pay that - but I wouldn't sell it for $10,000.

The only reason I'm going on about this is it can truly be a gift that your daughter has

Our biggest limitation start with our own beliefs ... "I'm sure she'll do just fine." :)
