What are you opinions on these labs?

27yr old male.
Currently supplementing 200mg DHEA/day and 30,000iu D3/day.
2 5mg Testim1 tubes daily

Testosterone Total - 336 (range 249-836 ng/dl)
DHEA - 852 (range 211-249 ug/Dl)
Estradiol - 19 (range 8-43 pg/ml)
Progesterone - 1.39 (range .2-1.40 ng/ml)
Free Test, direct - 10.0 (range 9.3--26.5)

Total T of 380 isn't going to get the job done. Have you considered switching to injections?

That's actually the very reason for my presence on these boards. The gel hampers my lifestyle and makes it impossible to sleep in on weekends, walk around comfortably, or have a flexible schedule. I need 20mins to let the gel dry and it needs to be on for 4 hours - so if I perform physical activity, I can't shower. Also hampers sex when I can't be pressing up against my girlfriend with the gel.


I live a very physical lifestyle but have had a number of different injuries and ailments over the last two years ultimately leading me to tone down my workouts and quit training Muay Thai/kickboxing. Not the mention the extreme fatigue and roller coaster of emotions.

Tell your doc about your concerns over transfer and tell him you want injections. Injections will work much better for you.

I initially asked for the shot but he said he didn't do the shot - only the topicals. He said they worked just as well.

I always knew that I'd want to go to a shot but felt improvement and a move in the right direction was better than none. I am trying to outline a plan where I can find someone willing to prescribe the shot. Any ideas would be appreciated. He said he can refer me out to someone who does Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) when I brought up the possibility of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and shippens protocol. That person is quite far away and I'm not sure if he'll also prescribe Test in addition to the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) - so I want to develop a contingency plan.

I already have a year worth of blood work and a diagnosis of hypo functioning testes

Your primary doctor, or a new one. Or try the board sponsor IMT. You will see their ads to the right or read all the recent posts on them. Lots of guys on this forum use them.

Thanks, I already put in an email to a sponsor but then when I read what another lab was charging in Boston I was shocked and appalled. Since everything is on the up and up, I do have a script and a diagnosis - just not the script that I'd prefer.

typically 1 tube just gets yo to the point natural test shuts down and your about the same or lower, always need 2 tubes

The 380 was 2 tubes. On 1 tube it was the 263 total T.

of testim ? wow. thats not a good sign your absorbing topicals, might be time for injections. have you tried fortesta ?

Never heard of fortesta. I'll have to research. Is 380 really low after two tubes? I was beginning to think that, that was pretty good and no doctor would touch me now because I'm within range.

Two tubes of testim get me to 650 , fortesta is a 2% gel you rub on your thighs and 7 pumps got me to 890

Okay, so I just received my most recent lab back.

Not happy with how things turned out. Total test count is okay after using 2, 5mg tubes of testim1 but the doctor now seems to be in over his head on hormones.

My progesterone is through the roof (what do you think?) and he hasn't pulled a free T test since I've been on the gel. The free T was probably even more of the issue than the total T count previously - it hovered around 10.0 and T count at the beginning of the day hovered from 260-400. Middle of the day it was more like 260.

B/C Ratio 31
PSA .71
Test Total 387 (range of 249-836)
DHEA 1615 (increased but i decreased my dosage of DHEA from 300mg to 200mg ? Just from the increase in Test gel?)
Estradiol 25
Progesterone 2.8

So met with a new doctor - Anti Aging/Restoration type place - and we're basically going to start over. Try to diagnose what the heck is going on but we don't have a complete baseline because the first doctor missed simple tests like LH/FSH and Prolactin. Goal is to get my T count up around 800-1000.

Not sure if we're going to take the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) route or Test route or a combination of both until we get the new blood work next week.
