Peanut butter addiction

Brat

PiNCHe GRiNGa!
Alright...I'm trying to cut right now, but it's hard as hell when there's peanut butter in the house! I live with my dad right now while I finish up school, and I've repeatedly asked him not to buy the shit, but he still does (this week it was reduced fat...an improvement, but not much!)...What do y'all do to either stop cravings or at least implement them into your diet? My one cheat meal a week is when my dad and I go out to dinner on Sundays...and they don't normally serve peanut butter in restaurants! =)

Also, does anyone know of a replacement for peanut butter?? I mean, is there something healthier?? God I love that shit...heh...

Thanks!

I ate PB on wheat sandwichs last summer when I was on a diet. Usually tried to limit them to two or three times a week...peanut butter is'nt bad for you but eating a whole jar isnt going to do you any good either. My strategy for staying on a strict diet was A) Dont go grocery shopping on an empty stomach B) Simply do not buy food that is not on your diet regimen. I know you said your dad brings RESTRICTED food items in the house so I dont know what you can do about that. Another thing that helped with my cravings was coffee(dont know if anyone else does this but it worked for me). Good luck.

tell him to buy natty pb. I ate reg and natty pb often while cutting. check out my pics, it didn't do any harm to me. It's ok in moderation.

I'm addicted to PB, too....at LEAST make sure its 100% natural PB (stir and refrigerate), not the hydrogenated or sugared stuff. I keep raw almonds in the fridge and sometimes a big handful of those keeps me from hitting the PB jar. I've also tried stirring other ingredients into the PB, like some whey protein, CLA, creatine, and a little psyllium fiber. If you manage to get it down without choking to death (seriously, be careful if its too dry), I figure it cuts the fat cals and ups the protein some. I put some sweetener in it to wet it a little, either fiberfit or sweetzfree.

Pscyhologists tell us that if you suppress a desire it becomes a destructive addiction. Now the added problem with PB is that its the kind of food you just grab out of the fridge.

If you can't stop stocking it, the only way to do your diet is to accept the PB as your cheat meal and spread it out over 7 days a week - say, a spoon a day. naturally, that means you drop your other cheat meal and live with that.

My additional (personal and amateur) recommendation is you cram the spoon of PB into your mouth AFTER your dinner so that your body learns to associate the eating of PB with your meal times and maybe, just maybe, it associates eating PB with being too full. Good luck, man.
