post ephedra: fda to ban steroids, "precursors"...

US readers need to write their congressmen immediately against HR 207. This bill if passed will outlaw by April 2004, anabolic steroids "and their precursors" to include many herbs, including ginseng, damiana, suma, saw palmetto, etc. This is a bold attempt by the pharmaceutical lobby, who has been salivating for years to regulate dietary supplements! No longer will they have to compete against the herb industry because they will control both! Ephedra was just their foot in the door! Next it will be diuretics or any other supplement they will claim is a public health concern. Not having studied herbs as their profession, see how doctors have figured a way to pay themselves for just that while giving themselves as much time as they want! All they will need is a few articles, papers or published references on an herbs' benfits or risks as they see them, to begin prescribing. Direct access to dietary supplements, including natural anabolics, has always been about responsible use. All plant seeds contain steroids for their own growth! The bill's language defining "precursors and precursors of precursors" can be taken all the way back to corn, beans and cabbage! The general public doesn't know or understand this will affect the whole dietary supplement industry, not just anabolic distributors. The question occurs why the government wants to ban one of the most common chemicals and building blocks of all animal life-- testosterone!

Ignorant bullshit, just like banning ephedra. I'm so glad we've grown up to the point that the government can decide what is good for our own bodies.

The pharmecutical industry is a joke. Just because they cannot patent/trademark any products that contain natural ingredients, they want to get rid of them all. Why don't they neuter us while they are at it? Don't want any strength or manhood in the US...

Don't you love how Bush sucks up to big pharma? What a freedom stealing asshole.

Fuck, I LOVED Bush up until about 20 days ago when I heard about him signing that damn ephedra bill into law. Now this will most likely be passed. He has just fucked off my vote in the election this november.

Just FYI, I contacted both of my senators regarding S.722, the senate version of that plan to ban all ph's etc. over 6-8 weeks ago. I have yet to receive any kind of response.

good. i strongly feel that we need many more laws and regualtions in our day to day lives.
I hate the fact that i dont need a judicial order to take a dump.

Land of the free....... lol

ephedra is not, and never has been, illegal in canada. retailers were asked to voluntarily take it off their shelves, some did, some didn't

Ephedra diet products were banned some time back. Shit like Xenadrine RFA and the like, of course that's why my ephedrine is labelled as "nasal decongestant". Of course you could still buy Ephedrine by itself, then in my something happened I guess like what you said, stores were asked to take them off the shelves. Like you said, ephedrine is still available OTC in canada, just don't expect to find it at Wal-Mart.

Oh and PHs have always been illegal.

They did this last year in europe already.

Bush wants the knew world order to be the same for the pharm companies and the laws are termed 'codex'.

Fuck Bush. That asshole will lose and I will Celebrate! Unless ofcourse the Supreme Court decides to elect him again.

Why not ID?

I dont understand why the US people are not freaking out that cigarettes and alcohol are sold freely and legally knowing the cosequences from using them. This country is 2 faced as hell. My 18 year old nephew can buy smokes just by ID. Why are the supplements not being put into this catagory? Were supposedly free to do what we want. With cigarettes and alcohol it applys? You can smoke and drink, but not allowed to take supplements because they are dangerous? Has Bush been smoking CRACK! Cigarettes and alcohol legal, but supplements illegal just makes me look down to the ground when it comes to the US and their big pharmacy policies. I'm ashamed to be an American sometimes. God Bless America anyway..... One day I would love to get Canadia residency and buy numerous houses in the US. That way the US would give me more money for owning here, but claim my residency and citizenship in Canada. You have to give those people their due. They do not put money above life there. We do. We should take an example in medicine from the Canadian neighbors of ours EH? LOL. I don't even want to vote anmore.... burnt out by the US's dicatatorship of money. Shame on Bush, SHAME!! He just lost my vote too. Corrupted medical sellout. :( Worse yet, if you think about it, as long as the DSHEA act is still there they are being dictators. Nothing else to say about it. The Usa is starting to slide. God help us.

well I guess they think ciggaretes and alcohol are better for you than steroids and health supplements. What fucking idiots. These fat ass lazy fucking polititions can suck a fucking dick
