powerlifting meet in may

pudzianowski is the new kaz.. he's a beast.. built like a brick shithouse and prolly could do well in the bbing circuit.. hey pullin how do you train for strongman comps? some of the events are for brute strength...

i dont do strong man training. there are a few at our gym and they do a lot of core strenght stuff and lots of grip work. johnny perry worked out at our gym before he passed. he did a lot of high rep stuff. lots of shoulder presses, squats, deads, benching. back stuff. they also train the emplements frequently. tire flipping, stones etc......

most events require a lot of endurance. i cant think of any events from last years meet that had any 1 rep max stuff.

btw mario finished 3rd this past contest.

franco columbo wasn't a powerlifter.

WHOA there guys (and gal)!! Franco was first and foremost a powerlifter (after he was a boxer). See Arnolds Encyclopedia for a pic of Franco deadlifting over 700 lbs. Please don't nock the small guys :insane2:

lol, i wasn't knocking him. i looked at his site and it doesn't say anything about it.
dave draper is an old family friend. he and my father were very close, before my dad passed away. i recommend his site a lot- he's a successful bodybuilder (very) who understands the importance of strength but i don't think he ever hit any records anywhere.

Opps sorry i got out of control and hijacked a thread, sorry BadRash. Sugar I knew you had no bad vibes goin on I was just standin up for Franco cause most don't notice him even if he stands up for himself :).
