Pre Cycle Blood Test?

Hey Guys,
I want to get a pre cycle blood test and found a lab here but there are so many options for the testing, I want to make sure I get all the proper levels checked and was wondering what I specifically ask for when booking the appointment. Do I just say I want to get my testosterone and estrogen levels checked?

Thanks!

Look up the female hormone panel on privatemdlabs and those are the usual tests done pre-cycle. I'd want to have total testosterone, estradiol, LH, FSH, liver values (AST/ALT), complete CBC with platelets (WBC, RBC, hematocrit, hemoglobin, etc), and a glucose test since I have diabetes in my family history. You can basically get all the for under $60 on privatemdlabs which is an amazing deal. But I would go with absolutely no less than test, estradiol, LH and FSH to begin with.

I don't think we have the privatemdlabs here in Canada, but I googled it and found the female hormone panel. Is it normal for a male to call and ask for a female hormone panel testing to be done?

With privatemdlabs it is at least bc they give you the option of getting female or male reference ranges. Since you're in Canada it's probably a little different maybe so else can chime in where to go or what to ask for but the tests I listed are the basic ones involved.

That's a beautiful pup by the way!!!

Hahah thanks!
GF didn't want us to get his ears clipped, I think he would have looked pretty bad ass with it, but I GUESS it's kind of mean.
I have a new respect for pit bulls now, they are such playful and loyal dogs!

One of my best friends has a one, a female. She is the most playful and adorable dog I've ever been around and if she doesn't know you and you go near my friend's two young kids, she will rip your throat open lol. Besides that she's playful and very protective of the kids. They're a great breed just get a bad rap bc of bad owners

Went to the walk in clinic near my house to get a referral because you can't just walk in somewhere and get blood work apparently lol.
I'm a little pissed because I told the doctor what I wanted to get tested and she was asking why I think I need to get that checked at my age blah blah...She asked about 5 times if I've used steroids, and clearly I don't because my body size is painfully average haha.

So, the referral form has these checked off for what they are testing.

Alkaline Phosphatase
Calcium
GGT
Glucose - Fasting
FSH
LH
Testosterone
TSH

And that's it...all i'm really getting that's useful is the Test/FSH/LH...Estradiol is right there, staring at me, unchecked.

Bitch.

Check it....check it... Haha. Can you check it yourself perhaps? I don't know how things work up north man but there are plenty of our Canadian brethren on here. Someone should be able to help you out with how they got bloods done.

I'd call the doc and ask if estradiol can be added. If she balks, just explain to her that you're concerned with prostate health and recently read that elevated E2 levels can attribute to prostatitis.

It was a computer generated form, so the check isn't in pen.
I wonder if I can just ask the place tomorrow morning if they can check for that as well and just do as halfwit said and maybe they will just test estradiol levels.

Just went in and did my blood work.
I haven't had a blood test done since I was in Basic Training, they used a 23g needle and I really didn't feel much, using a 25g to inject will be a breeze.
I also asked about the estradiol levels and the nurse said they couldnt add anything but then a few minutes later there was this fine print that said other tests to be administered and it was urinalysis and estrogen, so, it looks like everything is going to be checked. So glad I decided to do one pre cycle to see what my body is at naturally.

Also, I believe blood tests are free in Canada, I went to the front desk and asked the lady how much do I owe and she looked at me funny saying I was covered by Alberta Health Care. Oh.

Then on my COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT, the only thing that was low was my 'PLATELET' Count.

Advice/Suggestions/Input????

I used to have problems getting Canadian Docs to do my bloodwork. Its because our bloodwork expenses are covered and its costly to do the test's so they only do them if they are necessary. If you live close to the border you can use privatemdlabs. Im in Vancouver and I drive right over the border to use them all the time, You just gotta call them to make the payment.

Wow, look at that cholesterol. Before a doc recommends a statin which is a HORRIBLE drug - hop on fish oil if you haven't already. I run 4g ED, but you can probably get by with half that. Kirkland sells them in big bottles for super cheap at either costco or amazon. You're about smack dab in the middle for total test (449.9ng/dL), so if you get a post-cycle test done a month or so after PCT - be aware that you weren't SUPER high to begin with. No, it's nothing to worry about - just something to keep in mind. :)

Hah! Nothing to worry about regarding platelet count as long as you continue to eat sources of iron as AAS will most certainly change that from a low to a high very quickly. I want to say your liver values look pretty good too, but I do not know the conversion from Unit (U) to International Units (IU) which I'm more familiar with. They're well within range, so if you were planning on an oral - you should be more than fine.

Nice B-12 values by the way. Are you taking a supplement?

Nope, I don't take any supps...but i'll def jump on a fish oil. I was pretty surprised about the cholesterol, too. I don't eat a lot of fatty meat but I do eat a lot of red meat, so i'm wondering that's why my B12 values are good.

I actually thought my test was going to be lower and my estradiol higher, but it's good to know i'm pretty healthy!
