First of all I am not a DR but I do know that pregnancy tests detect pregnancy by detecting higher levels of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) in a woman urine or blood. You didnt mention what she was taking but I would dount she was taking Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) which is the only hormone that would make a pregnancy test positive. However, steroids do affect a womans levels of pregesterone and estrogen and early in pregnancy there is an increase in progesterone which in the absence of that increase would result in what is known as a chemical pregnancy. Most people never even realize they are pregnant when they have a chemical pregnancy. Once again, Im not an MD but I would stop the cycle just in case it is a viable pregnancy and go to an OB and have an ultrasound done to see if there is any sign of implantation. Chelsea
