proper form for close grip bench?

A lot of bench width also has to do with how broad you shoulders are. When I bench I usually do my index finger on the rings. I guess our versions of close grip are different. I have read that lots of people consider close grip to be hands about 6" apart. This is how I do it and it is easier on the wrists to use an EZ curl. Another option people use it to do skull crushers till failure then quickly blast out some presses till you fail again.

You are not doing a close grip bench if you fingers are still on the rings, even with long arms you are still using a lot of pecs. I have long arms too so don't give me that shit, I am 6' also. [/QUOTE

be quiet you making a fool of youself. i have a 585 bench to my credit. what are you benching, since we the same height? you want strong tris (whicj lead to developed tris) load the freakin bar up and quit doing those sissy ass 6" close grip benches with an easy curl bar.

my gym is full of guys like you that know everything but cant move any weight.

When I am doing Close Grip Bench I place my hands armpit width and and elbows out straight, I do not keep them close to my body, I can go very heavy with these and between these and Reverse Bench these are my best Tricep development exercises, my benching has increased 3 fold from these two exercises...

 i think most people with a brain on this board know who they should be listening to!!! they are the ones making progress and seeing results.....

some of you are looking too deep into spacing on this lift....its going to work tris and chest regardless of space between hands...it is a MASS exercise, therefore heavy weight is ideal....if oyur placing your thumbs together and repping out sets of 15-25, your wasting your time with this lift.

TY IH. elbows tucked in hits more delts than tris. another 300lber has chimed in with real life results. hey bro email or pm me. i wanna know how your progress is coming.

Hey, if you want to push 585 and look like you can bench only 200 because you are fat then go ahead. I would rather look like I bench 585 and actually bench 365.

The reason you can push so much weight on close grips is because you are not actually doing a close grip, you are benching with a narrower grip than normal. Why not just squat down 2" and tell people you are doing deep squats while you are at it?

at least i squat. 805 i may add. deep too. how much youy squatting and pullin BTW?

you my friend need a spanking. now go learn how to lift and be quiet. no one wants to hear your meaningless rantes on how not to lift weights.

i have my doubts about you benching 365 too.

you guys are on every board. wanna be's trying to get some attention from the masses cause you cant make it without someone's approval. get a life and quit acting 17.

go ahead and post another childish, dumbass post so you can have the last word. cause this is my last to you.

some guys on here wanna get big and strong and not do sissy ass lifting techniques. i see dozens of guys like you at the gym every time i go. clueless
