Proviron as a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) Alternative?

Proviron as a TRT Alternative?

I was wondering if your test was not that bad lets say around like 300 to 400 ng/dl. LH and FSH arent to low. Can you just use light proviron as a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) method without shutting down anymore but feeling good or normal? Heres the article I am in reference to.

Abstract refuting that Proviron is not highly suppressive

Here is the study I was referring to. Only 85 men out of 250 showed any suppression. Proviron did not shut down the HPTA in any of the subjects and that was at 150mg for 1 year. I would say its pretty safe and has very little effect on one's HPTA

This study shows no effect on normal LH and FSH with 100-150mg/ d mesterolone, and decrease of FSH/LH that were elevated.
Proviron doesn't substitute clomid as hpta therapy, but doesn't get in the way, either.
The effect of mesterolone on sperm count, on serum follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, plasma testosterone and outcome in idiopathic oligospermic men.

Simple, proviron doesn't increase testosterone levels. Can't have Testosterone Replacement Therapy without the testosterone my friend. Sure, taking a DHT derivative will make you feel better for awhile, but it can and will lower your endogenous test levels. You left out the part of that study that indicated there wasn't a change in low LH/FSH/Endogenous test levels by the way. :p

What's going on Vic? Your cycle leave you shut down still? Either do it right, or don't do it at all man.

I ran it for 1 month 4 years ago and noticed my Total T was 582 ng/dl (this was my natty level so it was untouched!)
My LH was 5 IU/L and FSH was 2 IU/L
It did not suppress me...but gave me more energy and feelings of well being.
I also ran it for a month back in 2005....never suppressed me again....
I did notice my Total T climb to 31.1 nmol/L(896 ng/dl) while on it....
I run blood work all the time by the way....
Ask Austinite how much blood work I run....he can vouch for it!

b.t.w. the doses I ran were: 75 mg/day in 2005 and 50 mg/ED in 2009....
I'm not a medical doctor, so I don't recommend anything. I'm just sharing my observations and results.

I don't see how getting tests regularly can change the fact that a DHT derivative can not manipulate your total test. Even if you get blood tests every day, proviron cannot increase endogenous total test levels. It can increase free test, but only because it reduces your SHBG.

I don't know what did what, but either way....those were my results and observations.:)

yes and today you are at 291ng/dl as you are saying in another thread...so what shut you down?

I have no idea. My manlyness has been equivalent to girliness. But I did actually bust a nut that I actually was worth wackin for just yesterday. Im probably just going to save the rest for my next cycle, still figuring out and brainstorming my next cycle.

I know that its DHT, I just ment if you don't wanna go on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) cuz you have not too low of levels but they arent high, can you just use proviron for manlyness if your not trying to get bigger at the moment, but just chilling doing other things like your sports ETC.... I was just wonderin BTW, I guess its just me tryin 2 REinvent the wheel FML.

You can try what you want to, but as someone that spent the better part of a decade with very low levels of testosterone, I can tell you -- there's just no substitute. A lot of our everyday functions require testosterone; from metabolism to mental acuity. I just can't see trying to replace one hormone with another like that, especially given how mild proviron is.

My .02c :)

You .02c is like a book of life to me, LOL.
