This is second time I have pulled or strained a muscle. I was warming up with a few dips( dip machine at 90 lbs.) , getting ready to work my chest, and I felt a small pricing feeling in my lower, inter, left shoulder area. The last time it happened was a few months ago. but on my right side. I'm not sure what the hell is happening!!! I thought I was warming up and i still pull a muscle.

If any one has some incite on this please let me know what I'm doing wrong.

thanks

whats your workout look like? i went through a time where i got like three pulled muscles in the same year, different muscles. looking back i know for sure it was due to over training! my first guess would be either over training and not allowing you muscles enough rest or not being warmed up/stretched enough. if you know both of those areas are in check then i would go over everything from sleep to diet and try to see if anything is off. there are many things that go into building your muscles as you know and it is for some reason straining under the pressure instead of building, so try and find anything in your daily routine that may be off. if after going over everything you still come up with no ideas maybe you should go see your Dr and see what his/her thoughts are. good luck bro!

Thanks guys for your post. I know for sure that i have not been getten enough rest. It's work related, just not enough time in the day. As far as over training I have slowed down to a two days on and one day off (off w/cardeo ms).

The area in question is the left shoulder blade, center lower muscle group, and
rear delt area. I have spoken to a therapist and she said I could have injured my rotator cuff and supporting muscles.

well it seams to be not enough rest, stretching, and not being warmed up. I dont want to lose my job over this but I cant do what I want to do on 4 or 5 hours of sleep.

try doing some very light rotators cuff exercises before doing shoulders and i would also do them before doing chest as well. if that is the problem this should help some and keep you from doing it again, you don't wana mess up your rotators cuff bro! i know its hard to do but you should take off until its back to normal, don't chance making it worse. then just make sure you are warming up, stretching enough and add the rotators cuff exercises in from here on. i would even think about adding an extra rest day in there, i don't know your split but i think two on two off would be better. just remember you will grow during rest not workouts. good luck and keep us posted bro!

I have looked into the rotators cuff exercises and it seams that the muscle groups will support my lifts and keep my cuffs in line. I will definitely add them to my work out plus the extra stretches.

Two on and two off. Well I give it a try. My body is telling me something. Maybe I should start listing. Two days on, one day cardeo, one day off off. It
seams that every thing is slowing down. maybe I'm moving to fast.

Thank bros.
