is it ment to be done when you do only one muscle group(i.e. chest) or can it be combined like chest and triceps so 5x5 can be done on both muscle groups?
5x5 is for the three core exercises bench (chest/shoulders/tri's) deads (back/bis/forearms) squats (hams/glues/quads/calves) only the three core exercises get 5 sets other sets are assistance work... dont overdo the 5x5 it works the way it is and your shoulders will be fried after one week the routine is flawless i live by it
IMO, I think the 5x5 routine is just ok. It is largely used in high school and I never felt that it was good for someone older to use it. It is easy to over train on it and feel there are better ways to make gains.
