question about blood pressure

needsize

I just stuck my arm in one of the blood pressure machines in the drug store(as much as my arm would fit anyway), and it came out 128 over 44. I know the 128 part is good, but anything under 80 for the 2nd number is supposed to be normal, but 44 is half that, is this good/bad or did the machine make a mistake?

those machines are made for people with 13 inch arms. I wouldn't take those measurements too seriously.

I'd try another machine or a cuff Bro. Cuff can be hard to use too, the one's I've seen only go up to 17" arms.

there are no other machines unless I go to the doc, I just wanted to know if my bp was off the hook with the water retention, but even if its not accurate, its still reading pretty low

i get funky numbers like that as well. the first one is high but in the normal range and then the other number is really low??? and yea it was a machine at walmart. i read the thing on it, yeap, 13 inch arms... i got 4 inches on that so yea, cant trust what that thing says.

needsize, you need a cuff that usually is used on either large arms or on legs. If you go to a pharmacy, they can order you one. Try the net too.
