The ongoing struggle continues. Im 49, in shape, nutritionally sound, but feeling the effects of low T for the last 3 years. Total T usually around 345, but finally met with endo and he ordered additional tests. I don't know how to interpret these results, any input would be appreciated.

FSH- 2.1
LH- 2.1
Free T4- 1.0
Cortisol, total,AM-11.0

I can guess, but it would be helpful if you could include the ranges as different labs use different numbers.

Your fsh and lh look below normal or at the bottom of the normal range. Coupled with your low T they may indicate that you have secondary hypogonadism. You should repeat the test to confirm the results as they can fluctuate. And check your prolactin and liver function and vitamin D.

Here they are with ranges:

FSH-2.1 1.4-18.1
LH -2.1 1.0-12.0
Free T4-1.0 0.8-1.7
Cortisol-11.0 8.0-25.0
Prolactin-6 2-18
TSH-1.74 0.10-5.5

Testosterone Ultrasensative- 345 250-1100
T Free- 53.3 35.0-155.0

I agree with Megatron. If I were to guess (I'm NOT a doctor) based on a years' worth of reading, you're probably looking at a pituitary or hypothalamus issue. I'd have your doctor screen for possible pituitary growths if it were me. :)

Well endo said the levels are normal..........someone suggested that I try 25 mg. clomid and retest in 6 weeks. I've read a little about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocols and some more aggressive steriod cycles but not really familiar with just taking clomid.

I love endos/doctors, they get so used to seeing depressed figures they become normalized to them.

Yes and in an age of proactive medicine it is quite discouraging to see such reluctance to change, especially in light of clear and measurable improvements that have been confirmed through the use of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Nonetheless, I'm giving serious consideration trying clomid for 6 months, will do new labs after 3 months and post up again with results.........Seems like a good fit for me with such low LH and FSH
