Recommended tests?

All,

I am going to go get blood work tomorrow at my Dr.'s office. So far, he is pretty cool about going along with whatever I want to do and keeps me feeling good. I have been having signs of high E2, and want to get that under control. Since I am about 2 months into testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), I want to have a lipid panel done as well, as I am already on Lipitor for high cholesterol. What else do I need to have tested. I had the following already on the radar as to what I think I need:

Total and Free Testosterone
E2
TSH
CBC
CMP
PSA
SHBG

Thanks for any assistance!

well if you have been on for 8 weeks its time for a test, but maybe you should do a quick saliva test to get a gauge on your E2, then get that in control first.

most people want to do bloods when something isn't right, but you know what the symptoms are, so remedy those and then get a blood test, this way the blood test will tell you where your numbers are when you feel good. so you will know what makes you feel good, everyone wants numbers on what makes them feel bad, which is only good once. getting good numbers serve as a reference range. Besides it won't matter what the bloods say, if you don't feel right then they don't mean anything.

just my 2 cents.

if its free and he is doing it anyway, just get it all tested

add

prolactin

progesterone

and maybe IGF-1 to the list

It isn't free, but it is reasonable. I didn't even know there was a saliva test for E2! That's great. I will definitely look into that. I agree that I should have full bloods when everything seems great as well, so I can get a positive baseline to work from/towards.

Thanks for the input.
