Restart story after 20 weeks on TRT

I am not depressed in the slightest. In fact, my life over the last year is better than it has been for several years prior, and yes, I am planning to get off TRT - that is why I am interested in how this re-start works for BBBJames.

Pretty obvious imo that you're most likely depressed, anxious, or a hypochondriac or have an underlying condition. If all your levels are in range and you feel nothing, it's usually in your head or un-realted to testosterone/estrogen levels.

Usually guys with low SHBG don't fair well on trt. If you feel better, then why not get off and save some money?

The three things you stated, ED, libido and "feel awesome" are in the head. You can have super high or low test levels and still have issues with them.

You should try a lower dose and put your total T around 600 and see how you feel... Nothing to lose, maybe the higher level just doesn't mix with your physiology. Happened to me...

I never sensed that he was depressed. Newtohrt is just a pretty pragmatic guy.

I wasn't taking him into account, just that most who have all labs dialed in and still don't feel good, it usually isn't related to hormones.

Most who go on HRT who have mental issues usually never feel dialed in because of them.

I hope to God you are right on this newtohrt and I hope u used HCG while on and can have a semi successful restart.
I've gone off TRT as well in the past listening to various GP's beliefs....
In the end you know who loses ????
the person dumping the TRT. I hope u don't gain a ton of weight with this decision. Just as it is life changing going on TRT for many men, so to is coming off TRT.
You were obviously hypogonadal while being prescribed this....were you not ?
I have to lean toward the belief maybe your HCT was elevated or something and you felt sluggish e.t.c.
I doubt TRT did that little for you. Something has to give here...

I would like to add: Social Isolation, Excessive fatigue, Weight gain, Loss of muscle mass, Irritability, depressed like mood don't appeal to me. Notice I am not even touching upon libido, ED.
Nuff said.

Should help if so. There's tons of guys out there that can restart to their full natty levels no matter how long they were on TRT when they know what they are doing.
Look at cashout and how he does it. He restarts himself to 800 + ng/dl

My protocols - and I have probably tried them all - have never done anything for me other than offer a very slight increase in energy. And this is after 3.5 years of working with the board sponsor and several other doctors. TRT has never - not even once - helped me get my libido back, helped with ED or given me that "I feel awesome" feeling that a lot of guys get. In fact, when it comes to libido and ED, I was better off BEFORE TRT.

My thyroid is fine. I have tests going back 3 years and all are in range. I am not diabetic and not severely overweight. I don't smoke or drink more than an occasional glass of wine. Never cycled in the past, never used street drugs, never was on SSRIs or any psych meds. Testosterone simply does little to nothing with my body chemistry.

I have low SHBG. 7-12 on a range of 20 - 70, typically, but other than that I have 3+ years of blood work that shows my E2 in the mid 20s, total T 800-1000 (depending upon the protocol)and free T in a good place. Still, I get nothing from it, except wasting a ton of $$$ over the years with blood work, doctors, scrips, etc...so at this point, why waste anymore money?

I should point out that this is not that uncommon, either. I have been on a lot of other boards, including Dr. Crisler's board and there are a significant number of guys that are "dialed in" on paper and not feeling sh*t for benefits and want to get back off.

This not a perfect analogy, but you know how some people get an infection and have their life saved by Penicillin? Another person that is allergic to Penicillin gets the same shot and dies. My point being that not everyone's body reacts to a given chemical in the same way.

If it gave me an incredible boost in libido, then I would have a different opinion. My total T was 400 before I started. I hope I can get back to that.

how old r u and how many pumps a day of Androgel are you on ?

I'm 58, in good shape. The doctor just increased my dose to 4 pumps a day two weeks ago. I know my Test must be over 800 by now, so why is androgel inferior. I mean, isn't all testosterone the same!

I could feel nothing on this stuff unless I went to 6 + pumps a day.
Injects are way superior to Gels.
Your doc gets a $$$ kickback from big pharma for promoting the Gel....keep that in mind!

Really. What a waste then. My baseline test is 400. Do you think I would be ok with my natural production. The only reason I went on was I thought it would boost my libido. It hasn't!

I don't think anything prevents you from listing a nearby state, but you will have to travel there to get the blood drawn. You get the results online, so no worries about the mailing address.

Im actually doing Cashout`s restart .
Last restart i ended up with a 571 Total T but since i didnt use an ai during my blast of hcg the negative feedback loop resulted in sky high above range SHBG leaving me with no free T.
This time the ai should make all the difference.

I used hcg for the first 9 montjs of my 12 months of being on trt and have been using again the last few weeks. Balls never shrank tho.

I decided to try 6 pumps this morning, and I have to tell you I feel great! I don't know if it is this the reason, or if it is because the Wellbutrin I have been taking for 5 days is kicking in. I am going to do it again tomorrow. Damn, after 5 1/2 months, I actually feel something!
