Results after Clomid challenge

rowdybrad

Welcome Wagon
I just got my results after i finished 100mg or clomid daily for 10 days. They test FSH, Total Test and LH.

My previous results were;
Total test - 332 ng/dl (range = 300-1080)
Free test - 63 pg/ml (range = 47-244)
SHBG - 30 nmol/l (range = 11-80)
Testosterone % Free = 1.9% (range = 1.6% - 2.9%)
LH - 5.27 iu/l (range = 1.24-8.62)
Estradiol (17B) - 19 pg/ml (range = 0-40 pg/ml)

The current (post Clomid) results are;
Total test - 679 ng/dl (range = 300-1080)
FSH - 17.53 Iu/L (range = 1.27 - 19.26)
LH - 7.53 IU/L (range = 1.24 - 8.62)

I took the tests ;ast thursday, the morning after my last pill.

I believe my other hormones went up as well. Overall I did notice a slightly better mood and a little more interest in sex. Not sure if it was because of the clomid and testosterone going up, or placebo effect.

I think I am back down low again. My mood and libido are down again and my nuts shrunk back to "normal", which is half what they were pre-vericocele. My left (vericoceled) nut ached while they came back down.

With these results, any idea what the next step should be. I am not quite clear on what the test revealed, as far as if it is my nuts or my pituitary or something else. I think it's my nuts being that the LH and FSH went up high, but I dont really know shit about this like I should.

Should I try another test in a week to see if it is low again?

If my doc says it is fine I am just going to go to Chip.

Brad

Very interesting results, thank for posting this. I'm doing the same test, by my doc only prescribed me 25mg per day.

It looks like your LH went way up to the top of the range which is awesome.

But your Total T is still only 679. So it seems to me like that is the most your testicles will allow you to naturally produce.

I could be wrong with that assumption, but that's just what I would think. Let us know what your doctor says!

I'm also feeling better taking Clomid daily with better mood and more sex drive. Banged this chick 5 times on Saturday night (But part of that may have been the Cialis lol)

Yeah.

I just don't know what the next step could be. I am curious so if my doc suggests something else, i'll have a talking point.

I can't take clomid forever. Even at 679 I didn't feel that much difference, besides what I mentioned, and didn't have morning wood.

Dont mean to high jack thread, but how long can you stay on clomid? and what is the reason for this test? does it help determine what is causing the problem?

rowdybrad: I believe the next step would be either get on Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) or get on T/HCG.

Quakerdipps: Not sure how long you can take clomid, but it's definitely not a long-term solution. In this case rowdybrad is using it to see what is causing the problem.

Thanks.

I wasn't sure because I got a call from the doc's assistant and he said "came back at 679, doctor says they're normal".

I dont know if he plans on telling me that now the test came back fine so we are all done now. If so I am just sending my info to Chip.

I am holding off just to because my insurance will cover most of the other. I will have to fight some for the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and more for the arimidex.

Can anyone in the know give me their opinion on wether the tests show more likely to be primary or secondary?

WTF does this asshole doc even remember that he prescribed you Clomid and that's why your levels are up? Obviously you can't keep taking Clomid, so there needs to be a follow-up appointment to talk about how you're going to sustain those levels long-term or raise them even higher.

Yeah I'd probably just save yourself some time and go right to Chip lol

I got an appointment for wednesday. I'll see what he thinks then, but yeah I'm not too optimistic.

I am just not sure what the test showed in my case.
