ribs hurt while military pressing

ive always done behind the neck presses and i just recently switched to doing military presses the past 2 weeks. Last week I did it, it just made a little sore on my right side ribs, like maybe a bruise or something, but it wasnt bruised. I just kinda brushed it off figuring it was nothing important

earlier this week I did military presses again and it hurt more. that night when I lay down in bed, i realized it was very painful (and since then) its constantly sore, hurts the most when i either expand my rib cage(as in military presses or reaching up for sky with my fingers) or when i contract my rib cage(simply leaning forward from a laying down position. i have to use my arms to push my self up out of bed instead. it also hurts when i apply pressure to the lower side ribs.

the pain is on my right side. not in the front, but all the way on the side. starts at about where would be be the half way point between my nipple and my hip bone. from that spot and further down to where the rib cage ends(right above the love handle area)

any experience with this, or advice? what the fuck did I do to myself? I have never broken a rib, but i can imagine this is almost what it feels like....but I have not been hits in the ribs at all lately.

Without readin your post I can bet it is due to a weak core. Do abs twice a week.

possibly your right. I have a small waist and stomach and small 8 pack, but i don't even do abs at all really cause it doesn't make any noticeable or major physical difference to me when I do so i never really bother.
it is still a muscle though... should still be worked outI guess.
i just don't understand why it on one side and not the other. I thought squats, dead lift and running would be enough for build up up core strength
