rotating injection sites on trt

How many times or how often do you have to switch injection spots? I was told not to use the same spot more then once per week not sure if I can just use glutes 2 times a week for a year or so as long as I rotate?

Hello,

A lot of people get away with using one injection site, alternating left and right will suffice for them. If you are experiencing issues, switch over to another injection site! It's a very small dose 0.5ml so it won't create much irritation in the muscle.

I rotate every injection. rt/lt quads, rt/lt glutes, rt/lt shoulder. So its at least 3 weeks between injection spots.

^yup. Use more than one muscle group to give you more options. I rotate left and right between delts, quads, and glutes. Gives me 6 sites to rotate through before I'm using the same muscle again.

im going to start, sounds like I have been abusing my glutes! My dr gave me these harpoons.. I think they are like 21g 1.5 inch needle so I ordered some 25g im waitin on till I see him again.

I use 25G now but was using 23G, preference is my delts however after 6 months of pinning them around 2 times each week I believe scar tissue is building up a bit as I have to push a bit harder on the plunger. My current TRT protocol is E5D pinning, so I will begin rotating delts/quads and eventually glutes aswell.

I have heard of guys on TRT using slin pin with 29 ga 5/8 needles. Sense you are using such a small amount this seems fine but I'm worried about the 5/8 pin. Can you get a good inter muscular shot with these??

I would think guys using a 29 gauge 5/8" needle are going sub-q and not IM. Hard to get IM anywhere with a 5/8" needle.

The gauge size of the needle isn't what causes scar tissue. It's the medication being injected which causes it.

You can use a insulin syringe to inject intramuscular depending on the region and BF amount there. Most often you can feel the needle pierce the skin, and then it goes through the muscle fascia. A z track injection or just pulling the skin to the side after removing the needle will help minimize leakage.

If "scar tissue" is built up you can massage it out with a very hard object or a deep tissue massage. The massage should be, I don't want to say painful, but it will be intense.

Scar tissue can be built up while injecting too often(or too much) SubQ, it will create a harder type of nodule of sorts and squeezing it can make a crunchy sound.

I have been using them quite some time now. If you are fairly lean, then you would be fine going IM with a 5/8 inch. I do it all the time. Most people at least have lean enough delts for it. I do delts and quads. Check out this thread I did on it.

I do it fine in my delts and quads. As long as you are not at an extreme body fat, it is fine and it works great.

How does the medication cause the scar tissue? I never really gave it much thought and just assumed it was the needle itself that did it.

It's a chemical inflammation, it's like putting alcohol on an open wound. It burns! Same thing happens if you inject a solution with benzyl alcohol! It will create a burning sensation and cause mild irritation to the tissue.

If scar tissue would be from the size of the needle, your skin would have quite a few dimples in it too. It wouldn't be pretty! :)

Hmm so scar tissue is almost like a knot that can be massaged out, kinda thing? Or not even close?

I have always been under the impression that scar tissue was from the needle itself and the movement of it inside the muscle damaging muscle tissue, but the gear itself makes sense.

It's rubbery, you can massage it to get some relief, I wouldn't say it gets rid of all the scar tissue. You can use an eightball as a massaging tool or foam rollers found at the gym. It's not really comfortable doing, but many have found this helps.

I inject subq, been using the same spot of fat on the top of my right glute for about 6 months now, with no problem, apart from perhaps a bit of a loss of sensation in the area - but to be honest it's a bonus as I don't even feel the needle going in any more!
