Safe target level for trt

carverelli

I am banned!
Just got more bloodwork back from labs.
I'm 44. 5-09 260 lbs around 30% bf.

I've been on 100-150 mg of test cyp for a month. My doc prescribed 100 mg. But the Rx gave me a 10 ml vial and I started experimenting with a little more every week till I could feel the difference. The 150 mg was a lot better than 100. Dont need Viagra anymore lol.

My latest lab has my serum test levels at just under 500(total test). I have a appt with doc thus morning. She is clueless about trt. I also had my estrogen levels checked but that test hasn't come back yet.

Should I ask doc to increase dosage to 150 or 200.

What level for total test should be my target?

Level should be were YOU feel right, within the "healthy range". That's my opinion. Range is about 300-1100 (diff labs use diff ranges but 1100 is about the top). However (and some might think otherwise) being at the extreme ranges of almost anything probably won't be healthy over a life time. Me I don't want to be at the bottem or the tip top.

I'd try 150mg once every 5 days (works out to be 210mg a week). You'll have more stable blood levels of t with injections a little more often. Up to your dr. If e2 is high bringing that down will also help.

Your doc is clueless about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) huh? Your first indication that you are using the wrong person. Dump the zero, and get with the hero. Maximus Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is where it's at. Talk to Chip and get yourself on a proper protocol of Test, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and and Aromatase inhibitor (AI). Trust me, you will feel like you haven't for a long time.

I'd love to check into Chips program .
However, I'm currently a jobless union plumber on a fixed income from unemployment and just bought a 1300$ mortgage. $$$$$ is tight and 100/ month for meds is pushing my discretionary income

update: doc wants to stay at 100 mg wk and add 25mgg/day DHEA

considering other alternatives...and sources

doc called me back today after appt and said my estrogen test came back and it was high-normal and tsaid to back off the DHEA until I talked to her.
