"Safest" way to use Lasix?

First off, i do know lasix can be very dangerous, and depletes potassium. I've used them 4 or 5 times to make weight, with no complications (yet.)
But I would like to know a little more about how to use them more properly.

For Example: Friday weigh-in @ 5pm
After all of my water loading, low sodium, slow carb diet (monday thru thursday)....the following follows:
In the past, to make weight, i would typically start my fasting 24hrs prior to weigh-ins. (Thursday 5pm)
I'd typically wake up on morning of weigh-ins approx 5-6lbs within my target weight. (about 181lbs)
I'd take 1-40mg lasix at 6am (friday)
I'd take 1-40mg lasix at 12noon. (friday)
By 5pm weigh-in i was well under weight with the lasix plus fasting. (weigh-in at about 175lbs)

My question is.....is 2-40mg lasix pills "OK" during this process? too much, too little?
Also, can I take Potassium pills during weigh-in day to replenish potassium that the lasix depletes?
