I saw my old family doc today. I felt better already being there...
this doc is way more positive to deal with. Makes you feel better already...the other family doc I dealt with was bringing me down emotionally....he was saying I am depressed....when I'm not even feeling depressed.
he said there was hope for me if I dropped more weight and really leaned out...
he said it would raise my T some more.
I'm 6 feet 285 lbs now....I was 295 lbs before on previous blood work I posted on here.
You guys think this is a decent route to go by in raising some T ?
He said he would also send me to an Endo to see.

I don't know much about the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) life style. But I would say do everything you can and follow the doctors advice. And talk with the endo and see what his thoughts are. Either way man if you end up having to go on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) it wouldn't be the worse thing in the world. Also I think if loosing weight is something the doctor feels you should do it would be very smart to follow that advice. Its probably best to stay some where in the range of 12 to 15 percent body fat for health reasons all around. I mean I have had my times in life when I was drinking a lot when I was closer to 16 % and stuff like that so I am not perfect. But I know that the body functions better in all aspects at a healthy body fat level. Not to mention girls like it.

If your test is suppressed because of the administration of exogenous test, I would think that dropping fat, in and of itself, may not raise the level. That said, dropping fat generally does raise men's t-level.

Either way, feeling better because you have someone you trust helping you will improve your outlook and mood...which studies show--raise your t-level, as well.

Good luck man.

Jesus man... how many of these posts do you think are needed, when you won't listen to any of the advice given on the other 396 threads you've started, on the same subject?

I been off it 15 months and Total T is 265-291 ng/dl (it was 383 ng/dl earlier this year in jan 2013) last test in August it was hovering around 291 ng/dl Total T...
I dropped 7 pounds since then....
When I discontinued testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) last year, I was 273 lbs.
went up to 295 lbs in July of this year till I put my foot down and started training harder to bring it down.
285 ilbs now.

If you are effectively shut down frome stuff you have done in the past, I doubt it is going to do much for you. Your best bets are still restart attempt or TRT.

It is very hard to lose weight when your TT is so depressed.

The problem is that you could naturally increase your T and drop 50 much faster if you took any of the advice given to you in the other threads.

You just keep asking the same questions over & over in a different format. Do you not realize this or were you hoping we wouldn't?

Sorry, never realized it.
I had a positive meeting with a caring physician for once and I felt better leaving. Not leaving in despair and coming on line complaining all these months. So forgive me if I felt a little happier for once.
What do you mean by "naturally increase T" you mean a complete restart protocol or HCG or clomid on their own?
or T shots?
there's been a few stuff mentioned....can't remember it all.
I have gone through quite a bit.

I know...
291 ng/dl is considered a "depressed" Total T level?

self administer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), clean up your diet, and start hitting the weights with mild cardio.

Find yourself a basic split/full body routine, and throw like 2 days of 20min cardio.

I hear you....
there's no hope of recovery to atleast 500 ng/dl of Total T even with this weight loss?
Even if an endo would put me on clomid for a while I would be totally o.k. with TT of 500 ng/dl and over....
TRT would put me at 1100 ng/dl and change....
I'm of the opinion the more drugs your body is on the less you will live....
Talk to me...

You have been a member her since 2005. What's your opinion? Would you advise someone your age with TT of 291 to consider TRT?

No. But I would advise someone my age to see if things could get running again to a decent number like 500-600 ng/dl
Endo's and docs generally jump on you with less than 220 ng/dl here...

I'm already losing weight. Cardio one day/Weights the next(rotating)
People say I look slimmer.

So you finally have your answer! Enjoy being at 291 natty and not having to take any medicines or hormones. Doesn't feel good to finally have you answer after all this time. All you have to do is follow your own advice.

Maybe if you lose some weight you can get into the 300's.

By the way, here is a quote from the study that came out yesterday in the NEJM. You might want to take this into consideration.

When aromatization was intact, fat accumulation began with mild gonadal steroid deficiency (a testosterone level of approximately 300 to 350 ng per deciliter), whereas lean mass, thighmuscle area, and muscle strength were preserved until gonadal steroid deficiency was more marked (a testosterone level <200 ng per deciliter).

And if you are now thinking you can just keep taking your Arimidex, according to the study, I believe they say it makes it worse. That you in fact accumulate even more fat. So are you sure you really want to stay at 291 on an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) to boot and keep packing on fat.

Jesus man... how many of these posts do you think are needed, when you won't listen to any of the advice given on the other 396 threads you've started, on the same subject?

Sorry Apollon, but I have nothing to add that can top this. ^^^^

Btw, testosterone isn't a "drug" in the typical sense of limiting life expectancy. However, having too little of it can and does shorten your lifespan. Think about it. ;)
