Severe Cramps

Just looking through my old journals, I was all of a sudden reminded of the severe cramps I suffered when taking AAS. I've been off AAS for approx 16yrs. I have recently got my stock (Love it!). So, can anyone out there give me any advice how to off set cramps.

The cramps I suffered were unreal. At times I could not extend my arms without them going into severe spasm and cramp. Almost all my body parts cramped up and went into a manic spasm.

I also suffered from lower back pumps. It actually ruined/stopped many a work out.

Please can anyone out there help me to stop this from occuring again?

Thanking you in anticipation and cheers! :beertoast

dam that sounds shitty!

My knowledge of cramps is not very extensive. I have only learned a little about them in school to help me understand what mainly causes them which in turn helps me assess patients better.

I am no doc but as an armchair quarterback I think you may be experiencing the most common type of skeletal muscle cramps sometimes coined as "true cramps". True cramps are part or all of a single muscle or a group of muscles that act together. They are usually caused by hyperexcitability of the nerves which stimulate the muscles.

or you could have low blood levels of either calcium or magnesium which directly increases the excitability of both the nerve endings and the muscles they stimulate.

The best way I know how to prevent cramping is by stretching good before and after you work out along with warm ups and cool downs. Also, replacing your lost electrolytes from sweating. This would be mainly potassium and sodium. Stay well hydrated also.

other then that man you should probably go see a doctor or something

maybe some one else can give better ideas

it could depend on your AAS to...

for example stanozolol at a certain age start to give cramps. trenbolone and masteron to...

note: these are cutting steroids.

A friend of mine took Tren and had terrible cramps. He said it felt like his liver was going to explode. Which is another reason Tren scares me...lol

This is true as well, Not sure why I didnt think of that. Sleep deprivation possibly

Thanks to all who have taken time out to give me their input and possibilities concerning cramps. I will certainly take on board the advice. I will defo keep an eye on my calcium magnesium and sodium. I have learnt over the years to stay hydrated too. Just for your information the worst experiences have been with Sus and Pronobol (cousin of Dianobol). These were stacked. The dosage were not really that high. 2ml sus divided twice per week and a max 60mg pronobol per day over 12 weeks. Anavar, winstrol, deca and parabolon have been a problem also.

Ox, thanks mate for the breakdown of possibilities re the explanation of the hyperexcitability of the nerves which stimulate the muscles. Never even thought of that one.

Once again thanks for some possble answers.

I am having the same cramps , especially on Tren and Winstrol (winny). Equipoise and Deca doesnt do this to me on other side. I am suspicious about it can be from stress also. When i am nervous i have the cramps more. Sometimes it continues hurting after cramp like i injured the place. I can reccomend regular massage lessons with steam room or sauna. Thats only helped me significantly. And for sure Potassium & Magnesium addition is a really good advise like people mentioned before

Does anyone ever have HORRIBLE MUSCLE SIEZES/CRAMPING approximitely 30 minutes after training chest, back, arms, legs. Its really bad....its NOT dehydration, period.

Ive had intense cramps when on dbol not sure what it was from but felt like nothing before

Taurine works wonders for pumps, I start with 4g ED and adjust accordingly. Also make sure you are getting enough potassium/magnesium/calcium/sodium (easy on the sodium) as electrolytes are necessary for proper metabolic function. :)

I am running a huge cycle of test/tren/mast right now and was cruising for a while prior, and never once had a cramp...

I feel like if you pop a multi, drink a gallon of water, and eat food, there isn't really a reason you should be cramping..
